Battlefield 4 PC performance thread

How does the full game compare to the beta in terms of performance and graphics? I might get it on PS4 instea'd of PC just because my 680m couldn't keep 60fps in the beta.

Thx. Swedish site Sweclockers and russian site GameGPU just posted their review too.

These numbers look wrong. A 280x cf beating Titan SLi? And capping out a 115?

That's NEAR the image quality you'd get from 5120x2880. I would expect that to destroy the VRAM of any card right now. Yikes.

Also, it saddens me to see that much super sampling, only to have that IQ ruined by High post AA (just turn it off - you don't need it!)
Yeah I should had turned that off, lol.

Well it seems 2GB cards won't cut it for that and does make me glad I chose the 4GB cards instead.

Must admit, haven't seen much of it. It's certainly not BF3 levels by a long shot.

Dem modular assets. Very much doubt they'll smooth it out.

It's usually not too bad, but try using a 6x or higher scope on Rogue Transmission. It's abominable.

One time I managed to climb the cables to get the special .50 cal on top of the dish, and it was completely unusable because the view through the scope was an acid trip.

I get maybe 2fps once the map finally loads. I think I need to update my drivers at the very least, but something has to be up.

Does anyone have good stream settings for OBS? I have 15mbps up but I think streaming at 1200p is too stressful even for a 290x and an i7 2600k. Any recommendations?
I've been streaming at the obs recommended settings and my friends said it runs well, no stutter or lag.

It runs infinitely better than the beta for me.

I7
Amd 7950
8gb ram win 8
Edit: sorry about double post

If the game is paused with the HUD disabled I can't do anything, can't unpause and can't type anything in console so I have to restart. Any ideas?

Also the FOV is really low in SP, any way to change it?

I have an I5-4670K and a GTX760 w/4GB and ultra with 2xAA gets me over 60fps on average. It seems to be the sweet spot.

Anyone still having HD5850? How the game runs? A lot worse than BF3?
I can speak for the beta with crossfire overclocked 5850s. Last going off with Windows 8.1 Pro, I found the performance quite good. I had everything on high except textures I believe (medium), 1440p, HBAO, no MSAA but medium post. I was getting nearly 60 a lot of the time. Very impressed. With one 5850 overclocked, I'm guessing you'd need to run it mostly on medium settings, but it should still look quite good @1080p. No chance of MSAA with the vram limitations.

anyone else BSODing on a regular basis? not sure if the game isnt stable or if something's overheating. Cant really find a way to check temps in real time cause of the 64 bit executable

Wow what an improvement over the beta.

Windows 8.1
i7 870 OC 3.52 ghz
4gb RAM
AMD 6950 OC 920 clock
1920x1080

Medium settings 60-90fps
High settings 60fps
High settings and when it storms on Paracel Storm 45-60fps

Running about as good as bf3 was on Windows 7 for me.

Shame it's crashing between levels with the red screen of death, is there not a fix yet?

I'm probably going to buy Windows 8.1 here soon but I dread reinstalling everything.

So don't. I just installed 8 Pro right over top of 7 and all my software worked. And then I just installed 8.1 Pro over that. It didn't feel like it made a difference from a clean install tbh.. still blazing fast.

Well, I would do that but I would be buying a full transferable 8.1 key. Could I install Windows 8 Home without a key and then immediately upgrade from 8 to 8.1 using the full key? Argh, why can't you just upgrade Windows 7 to 8.1?

nah running a 680

im guessing my OCd CPU is overheating and causing the crash, might need to underclock from 4.5 just for this game I guess? :/

First here's my info:

3770k @ 4.3GHz
16gb ddr3
670 4gb
Win7 64bit

BF4:
Ultra maxed settings
1080p
FoV 100
Vsync off
70-80 fps

I'm playing on a 73" television for now and probably won't be doing Surround/triple screen for at least another few months. But I'm wondering if there's any need to install my 2nd GPU for SLI right now?

In multiplayer I was getting 70-80fps so I assumed the campaign would be the same but I got drops in to the mid-40's but averaging around 50-60fps on the first 2 levels. So I decided to throw my other GPU in and now I get 80-110fps on the first 2 levels. I wasn't expecting that dramatic of a jump. I get the same results in MP too. :)

If your CPU is overheating to the point of BSODing your computer, then you need to scale back the clock speeds, period. That's not BF4's fault. How severely did you stress test it when you were doing the OCing?

I want this game so badly, but I am afraid after the beta which was basically unplayable. I'm still rocking my 5970 (which was a $600 card at the time). Bf3 was buttery smooth but I could barley even move in the beta for this game without the game pausing for 3 seconds. All this talk of not working well with crossfire scares me as well as the 5970 is a dual GPU card.
I don't think I can risk $60 on a potentially unplayable game.

ok i OC my cpu

i7 920 to 3.2 (should i go for more, some are saying to can push it to 4000 lol)
12gb ddr3 ram 1600mhz
290x

running on ultra 1080p i get a pretty steady 60fps with a few dips into a high 40's in odd spots, why im thinking about pushing the CPU little harder, but im not a pro at OC'ing i just used the default level one OC lol

prime95 for a long ass time

just checked temps after an hour playing and they seem fine

Full screen issue anyone? nvidia card. Anytime I set the game to borderless full screen it always launches back in window. I can't even get full screen to work.

Had that problem. I needed to remove every shred of the Nvidia driver, restart, install the latest and remember "Clean" option, then it worked.
