What he said.
It helps that mine grows in quite thick anyway, and I already look like a homeless bum.
You's seems to suit you, without looking like a serial killer.
Let it grow!

Mine doesn't bother me in summer, even in tropical places. If anything, I think it's keeping me cooler.Soon as more pleasant weather comes in, I'm shaving mine.
Grow it again in the winter!

I had to shave my beard off due to getting most of it singed in a fire.
Things I have found:
1. The skin under my beard is perfectly clean. People would often say things like "I bet its all gross and pimply since you don't get to wash it directly". Apparently that's not true, I did wash my beard often though so that may play a role.
2. I don't feel any cooler without the beard. I was expecting to "Feel the wind on my face" etc, but really it's about the same.
3. I have a slight double chin. That wasn't there before I grew my beard out so uhh..guess I should start dieting again.
Anyways, I plan on taking a picture everyday as my beard grows back and compile it into a little gif. The first like 8 days are gonna look off as my face heals but otherwise should be a fun little project.
Keep it, it looks good, you look good.
1) I just rub some Head and Shoulders in there when I'm washing my hair, I hope that does enough.
2)It certainly keeps the chill off my face, I've notice that this winter.
3)Heheh, growing a beard and dieting happened at the same time for me, I might look a bit haggard when I shave!
I'm defo doing a before and after when I do shave.
Kent beard comb, beard oil, and beard waxMy bro likes his beard, what are some good gift ideas or links for Christmas
For maintaining a beard, trimming, cremes, butters, any recommendations
If I look at beard maintenance videos most guys seem to use that first one.
Quick question about combs, I had the smaller version of this
But was having difficulty getting it through my hair unless it was quite wet.
So I bought this one

It's definitely easier to comb it with the wider tooth one I use now, though I still can't even use this after my beard has dried for awhile without pulling out hair. I brush it after combing.
Is there something I could do to make it easier to comb?
So I started to grow a beard about 5 years ago after I had a surgery which meant I couldn't go out the first few weeks. Since then I've lost it and regrown it a few times, but the last few months I've kept it.
I'm ugly as fuck but the beard helps covering that up just a little bit ^^'

Now I'm planning to start something like beard oil or balm, my question is though, what would be the best option?
I've used balm and oil. I find oil smells stronger and tends to leave more of a shine but balm tends to keep the shape a bit better. If you use oil just use a few drops and really work it in. My beard is ... a bit longer than most in the thread at this point so I use a wire brush.
Number one product you should be using in your beard is shampoo and conditioner!!!

Are you Scandinavian?
You look Scandinavian to me...
So BeardGAF, I have a silly question re: barber shops, and their beard trimming abilities.
So I'm giving a beard an honest attempt for the first time in my life. I know a lot of people say no shaving for 4 weeks. I'm a little over 2 weeks and I'm hitting that apprehensive stage because I feel like it's way too patchy.
Yeah, keep at it. AT LEAST 4 weeks, I'd say more like 3 months - I honestly think 4 weeks is a useful milestone only if you're naturally hairy. For me I don't feel bearded until about 2 months, and not *really* happy with it until 4-5 months in.So I'm giving a beard an honest attempt for the first time in my life. Keep at it. It'll fill out over time. 4 weeks is a magic number, mine took his sweet time before all the patchy parts are filled out.So I'm giving a beard an honest attempt for the first time in my life.
