Also, I've never heard of Doro, but if he's a bodyless and formless demon, how do you know he's black?

He was born in a Nubian(I think) village constantly raided/pillaged by Egypt.

He was a sickly child.

He died in either an Egyptian raid or disease (been at least 12 years since I've read it).

He dies in his mothers arms, possesses/eats her, panics dies again, "faints", and wakes up 50 years later in an Egyptian prison.

Through his machinations over thousands of years he creates lineages of human beings with supernatural powers. They "taste" better to possess.

The book I read takes place in the Africa/North America during slavery times. The story is also a prequel. The original story he's introduced in I believe takes place hundreds of years into our future.

Octavia Butler came up with some WIIIIIIIIILD shit.

Wow at some of the list OP some are good but others are just plain awful Falcon & Stringer Bell for worst of their respective lists :scust:.

Stringer Bell in worst black villains?

The fuck outta here son.

Also Denzel Washington from Training Day as best villain not on that list is a travesty. Also Denzel Washington from American Gangster.

you can't forget about War Machine

Shadow Man.... one of my favorite n64 games

You put Green Lantern for no personality but Blade gets a free pass? if you were dull and had no personality you'd make a shitty green lantern since your ring runs off of your willpower and imagination.

And what, Storm, Static, Miles, and Cyborg mean nothing?

To be fair, in "Mind Of My Mind", Doro does in fact stated that he is "neither black white or Asian"..."Because I am not human".

But he tells his daughter that if she prefers to believe he is black, he can do so if it makes her feel better.

At the end of the book,
when he comes back to have their final telepathic fight, he shows up as someone she's never seen before...and she realizes that he "took" her fathers body, killing him in the process.
Great, wicked character.

This is such a shit list. Stringer as one of the worst villains...it's like it's written by this strange contingent of Wire fans who act like the characters are real people who they do or do not have beef with.

Black Panther, Black Manta, and John Stewart in the worst category? Bruh, I don't like John either but come on. And the first two are just ridiculous.

Some shameful omissions on my part and I apologize.

A couple of GREAT villains.

So unpredictable and random.

Sgt. Waters - Soldiers Story

Great misguided zealot villain.
Not without a point either.
My dad spoke about this role years before I actually saw it. He described him almost as a good guy.

Hero

I genuinely don't know whether this is one of the best or the worst.

Cole - Gear of War

One one hand he (and Baird) have probably the most distinct peronalities in the series. He's fun and memorable.

On the other, he is a GIGANTIC WALKING STEREOTYPE!

Just call "memorable" and leave it at that?

It's been a while, but some new candidates have revealed themselves.

GOAT

I don't want to spoil too bad. But in just 30 seconds Lawrence made the black character Hall of Fame.

He might just be Tarantino's best use of Samuel L Jackson.

The more I think on him the more pissed I get. At least Rey was just boring. Finn was a complete buffoon. I don't get how Jar Jar was shit on and this gets a pass. They need to seriously just reboot his character for 8, or I don't even want him in it.

You hating on Finn? Come on! Finn was my fave character because he was the character the audience could relate to, but he wasn't a whinny child like Luke was on the original Trilogy, you could empathize a lot with Finn and he was the sort of character you'd want to have a beer with.

I loved Finn, for me was pretty relatable and his quirks are aren't that bad. Plus when it counts his great soldier. I do hate him being the garbage man, especially when one of the books said he was top of his class, and you sort of half to be to ride with Kylo and Phasma.

Woww this is so bad tho

I can give you about 100,452 worse black characters than Finn, and they were all created before 1960.

I don't get the Finn backlash. Yeah, he's not a Jedi but he was still the best new character in TFA.
A big part was the misdirection in the marketing having him plastered with the saber which lead a lot of people on. Plus he has no cool "Wins" in the movie he just ends up getting served the whole movie. Hopefully hes more badass in the new one.

John Stuart and Black Manta in the worst category..... did slayven make this thread

Hell even that can't be true because Black panther is in the worst.

I understand that and I was worried a little bit when he ended up in a coma, I hope he gets his share of screentime in VIII. But marketing aside, he felt like the first real human being to ever appear in a Star Wars movie imo. I really liked the way John Boyega portrayed him.

Two year-old thread, but I have to post when I saw Doro get acknowledged. My favorite villain in any form of media and I my favorite book ever! Anyanwu should deserve props as well.

John Stewart and Black Panther being in worst is some bullshit.
John was one of my favorite things about the Justice League cartoon.

Yeah I liked Finn tbh and I liked his arc if there was one thing I'd change I'd have him beat the trooper with the electric baton. I wouldn't be surprised if had more badass scene me in Last Jedi.

Finn was also the most likable character in a movie full of likable characters, which is an achievement all on its own.

Also I just realized nobody mentioned the best Star Trek captain, Benjamin "The" Sisko in here.

You know while I didn't care for him, this is true. I even noticed something was off about him back when I first watched it.

It's almost like he's from a different franchise or genre dropped in Star Wars. Like when Han was winking and he wasn't getting it. It was weird.

*sees bump*
