Chris - Get Out

The play-in team just won the whole damn torunament on a buzzer beater.

Not a stereotype.
Uses his brains.
An actual fucking human being with personality and character.

Get Out is a genuinely great movie.

Reward excellence, go see it.

Villains:

Lex Luthor...

Huh?! Since when Lex is black?! Maybe you must have been mistaken by the Michael Clarke Duncan version of Kingpin in Daredevil (though he was beaten by the actor who played Kingpin in the Daredevil series):

and / or the even far better, Mahershala Ali's Cotton Mouth in Luke Kage:

Either way... I never heard of any black Lex Luthor, especially one that stuck as a potential main lex to remember.

Only using the lame screen versions of these characters come on with that.

Black Manta and John Stuwart are great.

Favorite part of DC comics in recent years is them making Manta sooooo much more than he was and giving a pretty damn legit reason to hate Aquaman.

Super recommend Forever Evil as well.

Lex was dark as hell in the JL cartoons, plus having that deep ass Clancy Brown voice? I thought he was black for years

You mean this Lex Luthor from the Justice League cartoons?

Sorry, my friend. Lex is 100% white even in this and note how I purposely selected images with Lex standing next to other race characters. However, he would have been really cool if he was black and played by someone awesome who sounds just as great as the actor that played Cotton Mouth in the Daredevil series. The outcome would have been far better than this disaster:

Very very un-Lex. I still cannot believe they came up with this.

How does Nino Brown not make the best villains list? Didn't wanna give Wesley the 3-peat?

Lex Luthor in the DCAU is Black as hell man.

...

Lex in the DCAU is black
...
No ifs, ands, or buts.

Wow. Sorry if I have potentially ruined both your childhood but no. no. NO. NO. Lex Luthor always has been white despite the sound of his awesome voice. You, both, nor anyone else cannot go against facts:

1) The creators said themselves that Lex is inspired by Telly Savalas.

2) All those blatant images I put up. Even Superman and Lex have the near exact colour tone though slightly tan here and there.

3) Here is something from wiki: Due to Lex Luthor's pronounced lips and tanned skin, several fans mistakingly thought he was African-American. This is due to the Telly Savalas inspiration for his look - the reason for which is that producer Bruce Timm thought of Clancy Brown's take on Luthor as a "cultured thug", the same way he saw Savalas' Blofeld in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Timm's favorite Bond film). Sometimes, the animated Luthor is portrayed as being distinctly darker than the people around him, and sometimes (like the shot in "A Little Piece of Home" where Luthor literally puts his face right into Superman's) his skin color is exactly the same as everybody else. Timm is rumored to quip that his Lex Luthor must "tan easily."

4) As black as the voice sounds, THIS is the voice actor for Lex Luthor:

End of discussion on Lex. Unless someone brings in facts then, sorry, no matter what you think, Lex is not nor never have been black.

What part of Lex Luthor was black in the DCAU

NO IFS, ANDS, or BUTS don't people get

I'm surprised as you are. Yes, he voice did sound awesome in the JL series but despite this and certain features, there was no way on earth did I ever thought Lex was black when I first watched the series. No way. Ok, some people think that Lex is black due to his mannerism, but that only shows that they were limited in their exposure to how people can be - attitude/characteristics - at that time, which sadly embed into their mind and stuck in the representation of Lex over time.

If anyone still says Lex is black at this point either didn't see my post or they are completely ignorant. Let's hope any mentioning is due to the former and not the latter.

Yep he is definitely black in dcau.
After reading my posts, what is your basis on thinking this?

His black skin

If you can't tell, I'm not serious, but to 7 year old me...Lex was a brother through and through.

I'm serious about Knuckles and Piccolo though

thank you for dropping telly savalas. of all the characters that people seen as black( even that lame ass shadow the hedgehog) luthor has always been kojak.

Shit if all it takes is a slight tan and a deep voice to be black then Rick Astley must be darker than midnight.

I'm going to say that aqualad 2 (Kaldur'ahm) is one better Heroes that I've seen in an adaptation.even though he is supposed to be Aquaman sidekick I find him to be a hell of a lot more interesting then Aquaman himself. Also his Hydro swords are cool.

I guess you can throw Diamondback into the worst villains pile. I preferred him more as a threatening unseen presence than as what we got.

I'll always respect JJBA for not only having a black person as an antagonist, but also having him be the primary villain of an entire arc. Sure he's not the best of the JoJo villains but i love his design, plus white snake is one of my favorite stands.

It's been a while since I read it but Joco from shaman king was pretty cool I guess. at one point he was even the most powerful member of the main cast iirc.

Very very un-Lex. I still cannot believe they came up with this.

Comparing the facial features, the brow, eyes, nose and mouth of Lex looks much closer to the black character you posted than to supes. If I didn't know Lex from the comics and expect him to be white, I wouldnt have thought he was white.

Blade?
Freakin' blade?
Nobody cares about blade
He has no purpose being in a best or worst character ranking list

Lex Luthor in the DCAU is dark, but he's not black. Especially not with white man Clancy Brown voicing him.

If I recall, his complexion was supposed to be Greek or in that Mediterranean area. Olive, but not black.

You know, all this talk is making me realize Billy Zane would make a perfect live action Lex Luthor. Tanned, bald, and not black.

You just don't get it.

Lex Luthor is BLACK in the DCAU. OF AFRICAN DESCENT.

There are some massive injustices being done to Stringer Bell and Django here. The fuck?

Django is one of the most badass characters of all time IMO. You can't help but cheer for him.
