A new chapter in poker history was written tonight at Commerce Casino when, for the first time, a major open tournament was won by a film celebrity. Playing a very strong game, relaxed and obviously enjoying himself immensely, actor Ben Affleck took down the championship event of 2004 California State Poker Championship, $9,900+$100 no-limit hold’em, winning $356,400 and a $25,000 seat in next April’s Bellagio/WPT championship event.

Ten or 12 more of these and he can make back all the cash he blew on JLo.

There would have been pressure, just not pressure because of $$ I doubt these other guys competing where broke either.

I never said they were broke and of course I wasn't implying that it was a walk in the park for him. However, he, with his millions of dollars, was playing purely for enjoyment, whereas the money that they would lose is far more critical and important to them.

I love watching the WPT on tv... some crazy ass good poker players on there. Plus you can pick up some good strategy for when you play for money at your friends house.

Yep, it's hardcore...plus Shana Hiatt is cute as hell.

Eh, those strategies can be useless since you don't know your opponent's cards. ;) I do alright when I play, and it's always interesting to see what happens.

Shana Hiatt is ncie, but give it up for Evelyn Ng. Girl's hot, makes some money playing poker, definitely a catch...

A Toronto girl that's 28, almost six feet and single...sheesh. I could so get with that.
