I have the money. I can if I want . But there is a logic where things needs to stop.
I managed to grab a Suprim X 4090 ( again ) for 1.9k Canadian. It means if I want a shitty 5090 Ventus, I am going to end up paying probably closer to 3.5k Canadian for a shitty loud Ventus card or something and I am allergic to ugly and shitty looking / performance cards.
If I want an astral or at least half-decent card, I have to pay between 4 to max 4.5 Canadian for a 5090.
Why? So my call of duty experience jump from 135-ish native frames to 165-ish frames? Not worth it and I don't want to have a huge e penis. I am ok with a clit thank you very much.
Again it's not about the money. I have that. I just don't find it enticing to spend that much and there is no killer game that I want to play that will use the frame difference between 4090 and 5090.
If the card was able to do 240 4k native locked, then maybe I would have a reason to think about it since it's my main game I play the most with friends . But since I still have to compromise, then I am doing that anyway with the 4090 why spend another 2k ?
This card is really sad. It's classified as one of those back in the day Titan cards in terms of price and memory. But it's not really for gaming. There is no game that requires more than half of that 32 gigs of VRAM. And the performance jump of 30% isn't really that big.
Not to mention the heat of this thing. The extreme pressure on the 600w cable. I really don't think this a good idea. Will just keep me paranoid and maybe undervolt the card which will even reduce the performance of the card a bit .
There is a reason why they discontinued the 4090, they don't want people to buy that over 5090 and 5080. But in reality it's really not worth it.
Sadly. While the FE sounds like 4090ti, their aib cards like the astral or Suprim X almost sound like a 4090 ti super. There is a big difference in performance between the FE and these cards. Making even the FE not super hot.
Oh and that Suprim X will sag like an old ho. The fuck they are thinking of using 2 slots back bracket when it's a 4 sold card plus? Let alone it won't fit most of the cases. What the fuck were they thinking?
The 4090 Suprim X has 3 slots metal bracket exactly how big the card is. And that card barely fit my lian Li vision compact.
Just all in all it seems the cards are not properly designed this gen ( was reading somewhere too that even the astral is loud ) . And I guess it's a given considering the watts it's sucking out of the PSU… I like silent builds. Fans in my case are always at 950 rpm. I don't go higher no matter what. With the 4090 Suprim X I am getting max gpu temp of 64 degrees and don't hear shit.
I will still for the fun of it try and see if I can preorder a 5090 FE. But for any other aib card I am 100% out.
Only FE or just wait couple of more years. It's not like there is a game that will only shine on a 5090 and not 4090 or 4080.
Also MFG can fuck off . Not interested in that shitty technology. Didn't use it in the 4090 outside of wukong and the experience was shit. Because of my tight rack case, I may be forced to have the card running outside of the case with a long riser cable and 12VHPWR extension case if I can't get the FE. 
Though can't say I'll mind the 5090 being that visible if it's the Astral.

I've already offset 3/4 of the cost selling my 4090. I want the best performance and it helps to sell well kept components for food market value. I ended up paying 100 for the 9800X3D after selling my 7800X3D and hope to be paying maybe 800 (at most) after tax for the Gaming OC 5090

I genuinely can't understand going for a 5090 unless you have ai workloads/non gaming stuff to use it for. The value just isn't there for me. I'll get a 5080 or 70TI.
Obviously if you are just well off I can understand going for it as an enthusiast. But all the value in that card is the non gaming stuff.

Having looked at the reviews, there are some very nice performance gains (especially if you're playing at 4K). I would love to buy it - the only thing which is stopping me is the very high power consumption. So I'll probably just wait for the 6000 series.

Makes a lot of sense if you are moving from the 4090 to the 5090 and selling the old card. The 4090 is selling for roughly $1799 right now on ebay which makes the upgrade about $400 after tax. As long as you do that each generation you will never have an expensive uplift. Really depends if you are an enthusiast or not.
