Best classes for WoW?

I already have a Druid, later I will want to try something else (prolly when my Druid gets to level 30ish).

Undead seem pretty cool... as Warlocks. Are warlocks decent? Or are they Blizzard's version of a black mage and lack lots of physical power?

I'm trying to figure out what class is best. I want something a little quicker to level up with. Druids take forever, a lot of that has to do with their starting area.

All suggestions are welcome.
 
Warlocks are considered the gimpiest of the classes due to shard farming and other issues but still hold their own. All classes are good and none are thought of as a 3rd wheel.
 
Whatever "rules" there are about group setups, they were all shattered the moment people started getting through end-level dungeons (Stratholme, Scholomance, etc) without a mage, or without a priest. All classes have something useful to contribute, and in my experience, they are all fun. Warriors are excellent at keeping aggro and thus keeping the others safe. Paladins buff, fight and do a crapload of damage on undead mobs. Druids are great healers, combat resurrecters and backup tanks. Rogues can sap, do heavy damage and unlock chests (very useful). Mages of course can do heavy damage, provide food and mana for the group, and teleport back home/closer to the destination. Warlocks can provide backup resurrection/wipe protection, great damage and crowd control, as well as pre-battle summoning. Hunters can pin-point targets, coordinate a group and do great crowd control on beasts. Priests, of course, are the best healers you can find. I haven't really played Horde enough to learn about shamans but they're very annoying to fight so I'd guess they are useful too. Oh, they walk on water.
 
Druids can be good attackers too. My two-handed mace pwns. Combine that with wrath and moonfire and I can kick some serious ass.

Paladins look like really strong attackers based on what I've seen... plus they can wield some awesome weapons.

Actually paladins are probably the weakest in DPS, well probably do more than druids.
 
You're understimating Druids :) If I hit someone with a two handed mace, cast wrath and then moonfire, I take away almost half of their life bar. Plus I can morph into a bear (and also sea creature) and do some serious damage that way.

Druids are awesome.
 
Pallies and Druids are the weakest DPS basically. At early levels the difference isn't that great, but as you advance you'll want a hunting partner haha, unless you enjoy longer fights:)

Rogues and Mages are some of the highest DPS for most of the first 50 levels, just can't take many hits, haha. After 55 or so, Warriors start approaching that DPS level as do Hunters.

Ya for now, wait till you level up quite a bit. Watching a pally fight something his level is pathetic. Ya he'll take it down no problem... but he'll be at it for a bit.

Diablos, you love your Druid and that's cool.

But they are mid-level in most categories (damage, tanking, healing) Their claim to fame is that they can do it all. Just not as well as the classes they are based off of.

They are mini-Rogues/Warriors/Priests. For being jack of all trades they can be awesome.
 
Getting a powerful weapon for a druid seems almost useless. They don't have the attack power to back it up, and your power as bear/cat is not helped by having a weapon with high DPS. If someone is in melee range you should probably be in bear or cat form.

As a druid I treat weapons as just another trinket....only valuable for whatever bonuses they give you (+Strength, +Intellect), not valuable for their DPS. Get something with +Attack Power or +Strength bonuses that will pay off while you are shapeshifted.
 
not at all. there's a lot of variety in playing as a druid. but you just have to be more patient with it in the later levels. the fun of the druid comes through when you're playing in groups.

No we're saying you're not going to be the guy smacking things 95% of the time, and that you're best traits will come out in a group.
 
Be a rogue and use bow you can get shots like this!

No they are saying using that 2 hnd mace is useless as its dmg has absolutely 0 effect on bear form and cat form damage which is what you should be using if you are meleeing.

Make a mage. Useful in end-game PVE and powerful in PVP. All other classes are good in one or the other.

You can never have enough Undead rogues.

In all honesty, go Undead anything. Their racial skill (even after the nerf,) absolutely ruins PvP for many Alliance, priests in particular.

try a warrior or a mage

race doesnt really matter, just pick a race that you like, cuz you will have to look at the character for 60 lvls
 
ok maybe I should put it to you this way... when you are level 40-60 and you're playing with druids, what are they typically doing? Fighting? Casting magic? Cat form? etc.

It depends on the group you're in. If they need more healing then you heal. If they need a tank, then you help tank. Etc.

Demonic Sacrifice Effect - Fel Terror: reduces the cast time on Fear and Howl of Terror by .5 seconds and increases the fear duration by 20%

Master Demonologist Effect (5/5) - Fel Disjunction: 10% of damage caused will be drained from the target's mana.

You will rarely have a group without DPS or a tank. And a druid can't do either as good as the respected classes in each function. You will 95% of the time be a straight up healer.

In groups you are healing, plain and simple. People will not take a druid in their group for any purpose other then that of a primary or backup healer. If you don't like healing then stop now.
 
Druids are priests with leather and a tad less mana, a battle res, some nifty looking attack spells and innervate. Say whatever you want, haters. Your words don't phase me!

True. I never got into it with my mooncloth mule. "Hey, everyone says these guys level fast. To 35 I go!" I can't count how often adds would gangbang me with Vanish and Evasion down, or getting donkeypunched Dazed right after hitting the Sprint. So fragile.

Worst: Rogue (so many, plus Sap only works on humanoid targets)

Easiest leveling, PvE:

Warlock
Hunter
Rogue
Worst: Druid (adds can bite, lo-o-o-ow DPS)

Easiest leveling, PvP:

Rogue
Shaman
Mage
Worst: Warlock (too shard and current pet dependant to be ready for gankers; best leveling is solo and multi-pull)

Up until 50, I have muchly. After that you are totally right on.
 
I have a 60 druid. A druid who is played well will beat any class 1v1 outside of a heavy epic'd out shaman (you just can't beat a shaman with 7000 mana).
 
Druids are great.. why are people bashing them.. if you dont play em or you suck at them then you have no right to comment.. a good druid can beat any class in this game in a 1v1, the only problem with them atm is there dps is in the shits so fighting something like a shaman/druid/priest/paladin as a druid takes forever..

But you can outlast anything with innervate and bear form and absorbing dmg ... take dmg.. bear heal.. take more dmg.. use bash pop out and heal.. 1 min later do it again.. if he burns u too fast.. pop out nature swiftness heal..


Lvl 60 Druid Tauren Druid - Deathwing PVP

5/8 Cenarion
Stormrage Cower
Finkles Lava Dredger
etc etc
 
Good classes:

Shamans (the uber pvp class, shitload of perks)
Warriors (great for pvp and people will love you if you know how to tank, I suggest going horde so you dont need to share plate with those gimpy paladins)
Rogues (fun class, great for pvp)

Still good classes with some issues:

Priests (some issues but as a primary healer people will love you)
Druids (same as above)
Mages (fun powerful class but blizz introduced them with a lot of bugs lately)

Downright broken classes:

Paladins (the class every other class feel sorry for, blizz is promising to fix it in the next 3 patches so who knows)
Warlocks (almost as broken as pallies)
Hunters (soon to be upgraded to just issues)

I played pretty much every single class but what I posted above is just whats universally known about classes to people who actually know anything about the classes.

Created a palladin last week. A lot of fun if you ask me.

I'll throw in my view based on my experience to level 60.

Rogue: Awesome all round class. Well balanced and loads of fun to play. Only real downside is there are a lot of them.

Warrior: Also a very fun class. Fairly well balanced (protection tree needs work) and a great class to show off your mad skillz. Your ability can really make, or break, a group.
 
Warriors are very rewarding in the long run. End game warriors are awesome to play. <3
It's a little rough low level tho.


btw- WOW is one of those rare games where every class is fun to play, so its all preference. Some classes have some issues but nothing that will break the game or the fun for you.

Druids rock. Bottom line. After 1.7 they will ROCK (caps for emphasis), ok?

I've watched my gf (60 Druid) soloing and getting bad pulls (2 adds) pull out of it fine and dandy. Bear form is killer past 40. I've watched her solo an elite 2 levels above her without the aid of potions. Granted their fights can be slow sometimes, but they are almost as tough as Paladins to bring down in PvE. And Druids are considered weak, well, what the hell does that make Warlocks? Hopeless? :lol

And yes, Warriors decked out in MC gear and epic weapons are pwning it up nasty right now.

Play a Warlock to 60, and do some high level raid instances like MC, and then come back and try to say that.
