Thai film, called "Chocolate" in English. You might like what you see.

Damn, I use to watch this movie all the time while I was in the military. I loved this flick. Thanks for reminding me about this.

I really need to see The Raid 1 and 2. Seems like under the radar hits.

The sort-of Zatoichi spinoff Ichi stars a blind women as the person who makes a lot of rotten samurai end up face down in the mud. Its a pretty good, and underseen recent-ish samurai film.

The Chinese martial arts star Luxia Jiang hasn't quite had the success that her obvious talent deserves, but both of her leading roles (yeah, only two) have been good showcases for her, even if the films were kind of flawed in total.

Coweb (American release as Ninja Masters)

Bad Blood (American release as King of Triads)

correction, Luxia Jiang also got a leading part in Dennis Law's Vampire Warriors, which I haven't seen and can't comment on.

A lot good ones already posted

I guess I'll go with some of the fights in Arrowverse, I really like how aggressive and going for the kill Sara is. No flashy moves, or trying to win with brute force, just get the body bags ready.

I will also mention Banshee tv show the fight scenes with the women on that show are really good.

Trinity in the Matrix

Jolie in Mr. and Ms Smith

I really like the lightsaber fight between Rey and Kylo

Also Mad Max had some really raw fights that I enjoyed, especially the one between furiosa and max in the beginning.

I hope that's what you had in mind OP >.>..

Black Mamba vs California Mountain snake. It's a fight scene I always come back to.

A great homage to old action movies. I love Elle's Evil Gloating trope, Beatrix pulling out her eye and squashing it. Elle Driver freaking the FUCK OUT. The snake being scared of Beatrix as she walks past.

This epic fight takes place in the space of a trashy ass trailer.

So fucking good.

They don't get much more badass than Lady Snowblood

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XHjechNzMo

Anybody who is a fan of Kill Bill but hasn't seen this film is doing themselves a disservice. Lady Snowblood was the main influence for Tarantino to make Kill Bill and it's still an awesome movie.

The head actress, Meiko Kaji plays some other great badass characters in her other starring roles. Blind Woman's Curse is a film where she plays a blind swordwoman who comes to a town to avenge her family for the death of her father.

Meiko is also famous for her role in Female Prisoner #701, Scorpion which launched the (fairly exploitive) women prison genre. It's an interesting film series for people who are fans of exploitation films in general and don't mind the sometimes gratuitous nudity and violence.

Uma Thurman vs. Everyone in Kill Bill

If we're including pro wrestling, aside from Sasha vs. Bayley, Mariposa vs. SexyStar on Lucha Underground was probably one of the most vicious female wrestling matches I've ever seen

Hit-Girl at the end of Kick-Ass

Glad to see Chocolate get some love here.

Every fight scene with Thorn Bathu in Joe Abercrombie's Shattered Sea trilogy was awesome. But her training/sparring with her "sensei" Skifr were among my favourites. Also, Skifr fucking rules, my doves. <3

(Thorn is at the front, Skifr is the old black woman at the back)

How about GoT spoilers
Brienne's fight with The Hound,
that was fucking brutal

Gif linked for spoilers

As someone who sorta disliked her in the books...even I had to go "damn, girl" by the end of the scene
Yeah that was a good one, for TV at least.

Beatrix vs. Vernita Green in Kill Bill Vol. 1. The entire fight just felt so REAL. Everything had impact and it was just fun to watch.

Also her duel with O-Ren. Someone mentioned above, but every detail of that was excellent.

What is this trend involving women in Off Topic? First thread asking for examples of women having a real bad day and now this?

Is there something wrong with this thread? Women accross various media has some great fight scenes.

I don't know or care about the other thread you mentioned.

^ It's just that taken along with the other thread, it's a somewhat disturbing trend. On its own there's nothing wrong with it though.

Feel like there's got to be at least one good Milla Jovovich one out there. Maybe Fifth Element?

The start of whichever Resident Evil movie where she takes out that bunker of Umbrella people.
