Weird you posted this, because I've been playing the old World Series of Poker game a ton lately. I think it's from 99 or so, it's the most fun single player poker game I've played. I can usually clean up at a satellite, but the best finish I've had is 28th or so on the WSOP. In addition to no-limit they have a few other hold-em tables in the casino and the AI is more than good enough for me. I find playing offline really helps me learn because you can sit there and stare at the end and realize where you went wrong.
You need to win 5k at the casino before you can enter the WSOP, but the actual tourney is very hard and a real challenge. I'm just so impatient I usually make terrible decisions and then get desperate and start going all-in on marginal hands. I lead the tourney for over a day last time I played but got sloppy when I had about 70K in chips and then got ruined when I didn't notice a potential straight from an opponent. I went in for 30k to scare him off of a pot and he called.
Great game that I like to keep in a window while I surf the forums or stuff. I even love the old school graphics - just walking around the casino makes me feel like I'm playing Police Quest.
