I'm looking for a new monitor, hopefully you guys can help me with a few questions i have.
Are there any widescreen CRT monitors? The only one I found is the Sony FW900, but its 24" and that's too big for me, I'm searching for a 20"-22" screen.
Any one knows how cube or xbox games look on a lcd monitor? I've read that games running on a lowesr resolution than the monitors native resolution looks pretty crapy, is it really that bad?
Thanks in advance (:

I used to love my little 17" flat screen CRT... until my gf got an NEC/Mitsubishi 19" CRT with aperture grille (FOR UNDER $300). It is night and day, my once-exceptional monitor now gives me headaches from the need to adjust when using it. Godly image quality, text, colors, you name it.

I believe they're called the "Diamondtron" series, sorry I don't have the model # on me (@work), but I'll revisit this thread later on tonight.

Trust me when I say this monitor is the best sub-$1000 screen you can get.

Thanks man. I've read that NEC/Mitsubishi makes some of the best CRT monitors, but I really want a widescreen one.

Yep, once you aperture grille CRT, you never go back. No more of that moire pattern crap, and a really sharp image. I use a 17" Phillips 107P aperture grille monitor and it's great...

I have an IBM P275 color monitor.

"It incorporates the latest SONY FD Trinitron CRT technology to give you professional quality with the flattest possible screen. FD Trinitron offers minimal glare and image distortion with excellent color pictures. It also offers anti-reflective anti-static treatments to ease strain on your vision.

Specifications:
Display type: 21-in. FD Trinitron CRT
Viewable screen size: 19.8 in.
Maximum resolution: 2048 x 1536
Dot pitch: 0.24 mm
Screen coatings: anti-reflective, anti-static"

I got it refurbished for $225 plus $40 shipping. It works like a champ and is HUGE. However, it's heavy as hell too. 75lbs.

Overstock.com has it for $284.99.

I think mine is IIyama Diamondtron CRT. 19 inch. Had it for 6+ years now, and I'm still loving it - although my computer has changed few times, but my monitor hasn't. Only thing is it's pretty bulky, so I'm thinking of getting rid of it or perhaps make a small DC-VGA game station...
