IMO:
Dragon Quarter is the best RPG on PS2, Dark Cloud 2 runner up.
Grandia X is also quite nifty.
Suikoden bores me nowadays. Well, III at least. I still have some random, dorky fixation for Suiko 1 & 2. And I still love III's visuals and audio, and a lot of what it attempted, but it's easier for me to see all the problems with it lately...
I adore FFXI, and could talk it up forever, but Square's other offerings are just shit, IMO. Barring FM4, which I haven't played.
Xenosaga still sucks.
Wild Arms 3 still sucks. 3 hours of content streched into 30, dumb battle engine, dumb dungeons, and it still isn't western themed barring the most lesser of details and the intro, ARGH. I swear the only reason the even bother with that is so they can solely use a brown/grey color scheme for enviroments.
.Hack still sucks.
I wanted to like Disgaea, and while I like what it stands for. It still feels so overly broken to me. And the purposeful disbalance and over the top...ness of it puts me off.
FFX-2 gets a nod for returning the job system, but gets a punch in the gut for breaking the fuck out of it, and being so exploitable, it makes children cry. Oh, and for having the worst mythos in a game, period.
Shadow Hearts is good? Really? I've never tried it.
Still wondering if I should get SO3. I should probably listen to Shouta, as he's a good guy I've known awhile with good taste, but certain crazyness (Wild Arms, cough, Wild Arms) says other wise.
