Or instant noodle equivalents. Going to the big asian grocery store tonight with the wife and they have a giant isle of all kinds of ramen. Random delicious asian snacks to keep an eye out for welcome as well.

if u say instant noodle get mama brand thai clear noodle, been having this since I was a kid and its the best

It's good just cooked in water, but the best way to make it is to fry it in a really hot pan afterwards like real mi goreng. I use toasted sesame oil and top it with an egg.

They also have lots of other flavors. The rendang flavor is super tasty.

Want something spicy? I mean, REALLY spicy? Try this:

It's very spicy, but it doesn't completely block the really good chicken flavor.

My uni was next to a big Asian food cash and carry, so as a student I stocked up on a lot of ramen for cheapo. Funnily, my local supermarket now actually also sells the same stuff I used to get from there.

The bestest. Unless you really want some the soupiness, these don't have that.

Also the best, you can't go wrong with Sesame anything.

I ate these the most, mainly because I liked spicy food a lot more in Uni. They're damn good too.

Honestly, just try anything and everything Nissin and Mama make and it'll probably be good.

These things are some of my absolute favorites...

But they will melt your face. even the adorable chicken looks like it is about to fuck you up.

If you're looking for a best of list, go no further than...

He does pretty interesting lists, and is all about the ramen. Check his best of lists and see if there is anything that really stands out.

p much, mama is generally great

For some reason this is the case for me, too. Sure, I like all the versions but there's something about the bowls.

OP, if you want to step outside the realm of ramen, might I recommend:

nongshim is usually good but I think their udon bowl is uniquely awful. Maybe just a bad batch

Pretty much anything this company makes is a good bet, if you like it spicy

I also like Sapporo Ichiban.

Sapporo is also my go to choice when I can't decide what to get at the store.

I'll repeat the other brands when we have Instant Ramen/Noodle threads: MaMa and Wai Wai are also good choices if you want to get creative with your ramen. Easily customizable with veggies, meat, egg, etc.

Yep.
I also like the red ones.

I hate how hard they are to find where I live. There is only one supermarket near me that sells them but they almost never have (like one of every 10 times I go)

You can often get supermarkets to order items and hold them for you.

Had this the other day and compared it to the bowl version. The noodles seem about the same, but it's the broth that ultimately sets this in a class above the rest.

This stuff is also really good, but it's just noodles and no soup.

I can only find the packets of this stuff on Amazon UK and it's £30 for twenty of the bastards.

Yeah it's more expensive for a reason but I feel the taste is worth it.

Ultimately you're still spending <2$ per packet.

are these brands available in the US outside of asian grocery stores?

You can usually find Nong Shim and Cup Noodles but a lot of others you'll need to hunt for.

I see more and more corner shops stocking more exotic brands now but it's not really reliable.

Amazon is your best bet for getting the brand you want.

Ive seen shin ramyun at every grocery store in my area. Usually in the asian section as opposed to with the other ramen though.
