Eh, they do little improve sketches, deserves an honourable mention in my mind. Had a great cast of rotating regulars.

I loved the Benny Hill show as a kid. Probably WAY too non-PC these days, I think I haven't seen any reruns since like 1990.

Kids in the Hall was so ahead of the curve. Hit you in the subconscious sometimes, like you didn't even know why you were laughing. Some of the punchlines were as obtuse as they come.
Where most sketch shows go A + B = C, Kids in the Hall wasn't afraid to put A and B together and get you all the way to letters K or R. Right there in the gut of the mindscape.
No other sketch show has ever really reached that shy of Million Dollar Extreme. Million Dollar Extreme was cancelled way too prematurely.



Mr. Show is easily right up there with them. The way the sketches bled into one another so naturally was something Odenkirk and Cross couldn't even gel as well when they tried to re-approach the concept later with that Netflix soft reboot. Same type of absurdity involved.




Python's Flying Circus is probably the grand daddy of all that. I dig it. Kinda more cerebral and surreal.

ALL sketch comedy is ridiculously hit or miss. But the highs of Whitest Kids You Know we're the highest for me. Sex Robot, the Grapist, and the Abe Lincoln skits were all so good
