A few of them seem really promising. Joanne sounds like it could be one of her best songs ever with just those 30 seconds. Angel Down sounds great too.

Except Beyonce doesn't come off as an obnoxious attention whore, who would go out of her way to "look" cute and relatable (remember when she lost that award to Ed Sheeran and she started jumping and clapping? It was so over-the-top and cringe-worthy. but hey it got her some spotlight). One of my favorite Beyonce moments recently is at the VMAs(?) when Chance The Rapper was doing an interview and she was passing by from behind, snuck up behind him and put her head on his shoulder and left him shook at what just happened. It was a cute moment that Taylor would never be able to pull. That, and of course Beyonce isn't beefing with half of her peers.


Those Gag snippets. Can't even check all of them, sounds tragic/offensive as expected.

She said that she viewed The Fame - ARTPOP as the distinct "beginning" of her career but I thought that meant she would be heading into a more experimental route, not this. :-|

I refuse to listen to the snippets but my friends have been losing their collective shit over them so (combined with the reception in here) they are most likely a slay. I MUST BE STRONG AND WAIT

but they're not even polarizing, they are just generic and inoffensive and the sort of album I would've expected from gaga when she was entering her 50s as a legacy act.

Honestly I really like the sound of Joanne's album. It sounds very consistent and much better than Artpop already. Her voice also sounds really good with the music. I don't think Perfect Illusion was a good representation of the album at this point, and looks to be easily the worst song on it.

I'm not sure what to think. A good deal of posters here don't like it...but it seems ATRL is enjoying it? Gagadaily is loving it, but I don't trust their opinions lol.

lol I bit and listened to Dancin In Circles. It sounded very popGa to me? That was definitely a Fame Monster hook I heard at the beat drop. Or maybe it was just pop compared to what I was expecting.

I made it like three hours. I'm not angry at myself, but I'm not not angry.

Okay, Diamond Heart, Angel Down, Joanne, Just Another Day, Dancin In Circles and John Wayne all slayed me. Fuck. Based on these snippets the album harks back to classic Gaga quite a bit but weaves that into a more adult contemporary vibe. There's an Americana filter on Joanne. The only songs that didn't impress me were Come To Mama and Hey Girl, but the rest made me hard. I'm so happy :)

My worry is that these short track lengths (most is in the sub-to-just-barely-over 3 minutes range) mean it's going to feel like a sprint to the finish a la ARTPOP. I'm wary of short songs because I do think a good hook will suffer if it doesn't get enough breathing room. I'm impressed with the snippets but I want the songs to feel complete. Perfect Illusion and Million Reasons don't IMO.

We all know I'm not a Gaga stan, but I respect her efforts and I'm here for her if she releases quality. So far I haven't seen the quality I'm looking for, but I do appreciate her effort. I'll let her rihlease the music she wants to.

It's not fair to expect artists to do only what we want them to do. I'll listen to Joanne with an open heart.

I'm gonna give Natalia Kills' record another listen, I thought it was meh initially but we'll see.

So Bruno kinda won with his new single. I don't really use most of his music but 24k Magic is nice.

And I was only liked 2 of those Gaga snippets. I don't think her new album will be for me.
