Edit: so the caption came after Lemonade premièred, and it looks like this Rachel whoever she is, is loving the attention, so. Whatever. I don't see why give these people time in the spotlight. Bey would be good just ignoring she exists, tbh.

Yo 6INCH is that straight uncut fire, love the isaac hayes walk on by sample, I loved it when RZA used it for I can't go to sleep but I love the way they flip it on that erykah badu better call on Tyrone vibe here. That straight 808 outro with the hoarse vocals are god type shit too.

You don't know how Beyonce fans react to this kind of stuff. They are vicious.

They once threw CDs at Keri Hilson while she was walking on the streets, and even to this day they still spam Kid Rock's Instagram. (his most recent post, notice the bees and lemons?)

It's a huge blow for someone like Rachel (socialite) to make her account private. And if she thinks Beyonce fans will let her breathe next week, she is totally wrong.

Her life is over.
 
Have to say it again..but Daddy Lessons is great fucking song. It has a very nice counrty'ness about it. I can see country artists covering it.

Overall a great album.

I don't think 90% of the lyrics are explicitly about Beyoncé but twitter seems to believe so. The tidal page even says it's a concept album.

A lot of it is about her mother. But SOME of it is clearly about Jay.

There is NO WAY Don't Hurt Yourself and Sorry are not about Jay.
 
I cant take these publications reviews seriously though. An album as dense as this gotta marinate for at least a few days before you can write a "review" for it.
edit: on another note, why is Rachel Roy being dragged on twitter and not Jay also?!
 
On first listen I'ma give the certified hot fire FloatingDivider stamp of approval to 6inch, Freedom, and all night. Formation is hot but that's been a known thing for a while. The other tracks are mostly fire but it's not holyshit I'm going hard in my chair level like the above. Oh I really liked that jack white song too but I wish the vocals had been mixed more in my face, I thought they hung out too far back. The only one song that kinda took me out of it was sandcastles that song is prime remix material though so I'm expecting atleast 10 remixes out of it that I'm going to enjoy.

Album is a good 8.5/10 out of me, would bump again.

I saw people saying all the cheating stuff was about her mother. I'm watching the film now (about 40ish mins in) and I'm not seeing any evidence that clearly states who the cheating stuff is about. Can anyone explain?

Only on Tidal. There's a video titled "LEMONADE" that's ~1 hour long. I think it's a better experience than just listening to the album. The interludes really string everything together.

Cliff Notes version:

A lot of this was likely triggered at the Met Gala 2014 -- aka, the night Solange got up in that ass in the elevator. There had been rumors for a while that Jay Z had been cheating on Bey for a good minute. Beyonce has been making not-so-veiled references to Jay Z cheating on her since her second album, so none of this is new. But that night put a name to who the mystery person might be (although, I had heard her name pop up before): Rachel Roy, Damon Dash's ex wife, who was at the Met Gala that year and who was allegedly getting a little too comfortable up on Jay in front of everyone, which is why Solange went off. That Jay might be cheating on Bey with Damon Dash's ex wife made the blog rounds for a minute, but with nobody saying anything, the rumor quickly died down.

In comes Lemonade. In the song "Sorry", which is CLEARLY about Jay, Beyonce says, "Better call Becky with the good hair."

Now, Rachel could have just not said anything and saved herself the bee stings. But you know, messy gon' be messy...

Shortly after Lemonade released, Rachel put this up on her instagram:
