Beyond: Two Souls emabrgo date

It comes out here in the UK on 11th Oct. Could it be that smaller sites have an embargo on the US release date while bigger sites like Edge, Eurogamer, IGN etc will have reviews up sooner than that? I'm not sure if you get split embargoes like that, so I'm just speculating. Otherwise, a launch day embargo is a little worrying.

Are other companies as forthcoming, or are they more difficult?

I know Capcom are - or at least used to be, about three years ago - very harsh. You had to hit a requirement of something like 200,000 unique visitors per month, and they wanted copies of the metrics to prove it.

EA, Square and Namco is a pain in the ass, Others are easy or "medium". Sony, Nintendo, 2K, Bethesda, CapCom and many others are really simple, they send automatic games to me.

But I guess it's all about if you are lucky to find a nice PR person.

Mind if I shoot you a PM about contacts? (We are newish and trying to build a solid contact base)

@fantomena: Would you be so kind to send me a PM with some of your PR contacts or how I can find them myself? I am working for a gaming website and it would help me very much if I would have the e-mail adresses. Thank you very much!

Embargo day is the release day? Wish it would be a little sooner.

Considering Cage's style, I doubt anyone involved with this game wants an iota of information getting out before the game hits print.

Think about how Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain got creamed days after release with their janky engine nonsense. The last thing they want to do is scare away pre-orders.

What about Microsoft?

A PAIN IN THE ASS, from my experience anyway.

That blows man, the embargo date for Heavy Rain was a good week or two prior to it coming out. I hate it when the reviews don't drop until the day of the game's release; it screws around with the build-up hype.

That's an odd reason to cancel your pre-order.

Have you played the demo yet?

US Only, so no I haven't been able to try the demo.
I'm sure it will be an amazing game, I just rather not chance it when I can't find out anything about it until the day I get it.

While I wish they'd have some more confidence in their game and have the embargo a little earlier, I think it'll turn out well.

To be honest, I'm intrested in the game but haven't really kept up with news on it. Last I heard there was a preview that said the game was very "broken", have impressions changed?

I didn't play heavy rain until this year so likewise, I'm also in no rush to play Beyond either.

If anything, I expect it to be a step up from heavy rain and refine a few things, the only thing I am concerned about is being spoiled like I did for heavy rain.

Either way, I expect reviews to rest around 77-83ish. Probably will score around heavy rains marks.

I hope the alternate endings and everything remain consistent and cool like they were in heavy rain. By far the best part about this kind of game.

It's not like they want to hide the game, they made a demo for it. I suppose it's just they want to avoid spoilerish leaks as much as possible.

Not really, it usually isn't a good sign. Played the demo and didn't like it very much; it looks great but the gameplay is terrible and I don't trust Cage with the story. I would wait for reviews.

Yes, the story will most likely turn to shit at some point, but what exactly were you expecting from the gameplay? If you played Heavy Rain, you should have a good idea of how Beyond would play.

I've never heard of that happening... if they want the smaller sites to review it later they just won't send an early copy then. Sometimes embargo dates can be different depending on the region, but it is rare these days.

That's it. I'm moving forward with my blog for free PS4 games. No but seriously. Gotta get that running super soon...

That always says something to me... and it's probably not what developers want it to say. Also, since this is a David Cage game, I'm abso-frickin-lutely positive it's not what HE'D want it to say.

Reviews will probably range from 5-9 and settle somewhere in the low 80s. The game isn't for everyone but there is a demo out for all to try. Personally, I loved the demo so I can't wait for this one.

Dang, that kind of sucks. I was wondering what people would at least think of the game before it comes out, and that includes reviews.

Meh, honestly, reviews of this game don't really matter that much, since it's a Quantic Dream game. Opinions of this game are going to be all over the map, and I'm not making any conclusions until I play it myself.

The same for rain. Come on Sony.

I hope it is because of spoilers. Heavy Rain was terrible in this regard, GT spoiled a good chunk of the game in their review. So I hope it is that and not that Sony has no confidence.

I'd imagine it is because of spoilers, Sony isn't known for embargos to keep bad reviews out

when did reviews for God of War: Ascension go live?
