it was a Citi Bike, they are sturdy but just regular bikes. Looks like the smoke came from the train engaging its emergency brakes.Maybe it was E bike with lithium batteries
I think they expect people to act responsible with their property. Probably a big ask.wow, I did not expect that result.
that's a pretty big safety issue eh?
yeah. betting on the general public to act in a normal and responsible way nowadays is, unfortunately, not a great betI think they expect people to act responsible with their property. Probably a big ask.
4chan are already on the case.yeah. betting on the general public to act in a normal and responsible way nowadays is, unfortunately, not a great bet
of course it's too much. You never can rely on people thinking properlyI think they expect people to act responsible with their property. Probably a big ask.
Never understood why there aren't guard railsHas to happen a lot without guard rails not to mention unreported instances. Before subways arrived you just walked down a damn street.
Sounds logical. But the probably dont do it because if there's a mechanical failure with a guard rail or gate, nobody can get in or out. Also, the gate would have to always be going up or down after each load, so if someone is standing near it, it'll hit them.Never understood why there aren't guard rails
Still seems worth solving those problems when you compare it to babies rolling onto the track and stuffSounds logical. If it's a stationary mini guard rail, the trains would need to align at each one perfectly which isnt going to happen. And you'd still have risk of people tripping on it.
As someone said in the Reddit thread, back in the old days, like the Cold War or WW2, bullshit like this would be thought of as sabotage. Granted, it could be some scrub-ass hobo tossing his bike on the tracks to chase down some rat for lunch. Because New York. Was this accidental or malicious do you think? (not an east coaster, is this a common issue)?
Hella expensive on a city that's already hurting bad...shame
