Bill Clinton and Sexual Assault

Too young at the time to have really cared about Bill Clinton's scandal while he was president. I don't see much value pondering about it now either as I imagine many use his actions to try and defame Hillary in some way.

Bill Clinton And The Sexual Assault would be an amazing if not a bit offensive band name

If you're going to make the case that Hillary Clinton is not fit to be President because of something that her husband did as much as 40 years ago. Then you factor in that this issue has been vetted for 40 years by the media and his political opponents prominently. At that point, where's the evidence is probably a valid statement.

Also keeping in mind that the Clintons have been accused of murder, bribery, and just about everything else and you start to wonder who's crying wolf here. 5 months ago we were talking about her going to jail over e-mails but nothing has come out of that yet. Or Benghazi.

Whoa whoa... I never said anything about Hillary. Her husband's propensity for strange has no bearing on her qualifications for the job of President. I just think there's a big disconnect between the tone surrounding the discussion of these particular sexual assault allegations compared to cases involving other people.

"Where's the evidence" is a weird thing to ask someone who claims to have been raped decades ago.

I think you're reading a different thread. I can't remember the last time I saw a thread about a subject like this with so much "where's the evidence?" going on.

It's been mentioned before. This is different because the right has tried to pin anything and everything, scandal wise, on these two for a good 25 years or so. I tend to take any accusations against either of them with a giant grain of salt. You have to remember, this is coming from the party that brought you the swift boat scandal (They managed to find multiple assholes to lie). The birth certificate scandal. The flag lapel pin scandal. Email scandal. Benghazi scandal. Vince foster scandal. Etc. It never ends. Couple that with like minded citizens, it's not hard to imagine they can find people to manufacture a scandal.

that might be a jab at Hillary who has said the same thing, her critics usually ask about the women who claim her husband raped her , does she believe them as well?

I feel like people have kind of ruined the idea behind this quote.

It comes out of the fact that a lot of rape accusations used to not be taken seriously, especially on college campuses. There are plenty of infuriating stories about college girls getting their claims laughed away by administrators. It means that you take them in good faith and really investigate their claims. And (this is the most important part right here) it's meant more for police and other authority figures than for the general public.

It doesn't (or wasn't supposed to) mean that we in the general public should unconditionally believe every single story. If that were the case, we wouldn't even need trials.

Hillary unfortunately seems to also have taken the idea beyond its original meaning.

I thought the standard assumption for those who argue rape culture is responsible for rapes was to believe accusations of rape. If Bill was a serial rapist and Hillary was aware of it AND sought to sweep the victims under the rug, it would be relevant to her present aspirations.

What Clinton did for mass incarceration is far worse than an alleged rape. He may or may not have ruined this woman's life but he most definitely ruined millions of other Americans lives. I really don't understand why liberals love the dude.

I take it with a big grain of salt because of the republicans' hatred of the Clintons, but there's a lot of smoke there and I tend to lean towards him really being a rapist. It almost seems like an exception to the norm for rich and powerful men to not commit some heinous shit.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there's any way to prove it even if it is true, so i can't make a firm judgment. I'll vote for Hillary if she's the nominee but i am uneasy about it. The Clintons, and Bill in particular, seem like really shady and scummy people.

Something something, republicans are worse, political realities, something something, have you seen him play the sax?
