Billbill-kun: Horizon Lego is day 1 on PC and PS5

It's just like "Xbox is only bringing these four old games to Playstation" - Everyone with a braincell knows it's not stopping there.

Now it's "only this Lego game is day one"
Only all the remakes, the Lego games, and the GAAS games. The rest are later, possibly.

Its not on xbox and switch seemingly so they some leverage at least.
Well I doubt anyone is even interested in it on those platforms, at least Horizon has been released on PC before. This is probably a licensing only deal so not developed or published by Sony, we'll have to wait and see though. (And being the licensor they will have the say on platforms as part of the agreement if they aren't publishing it)

Can you show me where they said GAAS weren't going to be day one?

I'm talking about fans. Back before any games were on PC, PS fans said it wouldn't happen. They came to PC eventually. Then PS fans said no day 1 games, they came even if they are in GAAS form. I didn't mention what Sony said or didn't say.

Lego is cool shit but I don't care about Horizon.

Wonder if we'll get to see a Lego version of the nipple guy.

It's in the OP article. If the other things are correct, this is too.
Ok cool, thought it may have been just a licensing dealio

I'm just pissed it isn't being made by Guerrilla, would have been wonderful to see a mix between Lego and Horizon game world in Decima

Until Dawn will be the perfect family friendly game to play with the kids :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Only Gaas right? Right?
Bilbill-kun also adds in his report that the game will be available on day one on both PlayStation 5 and PC, which is in line with PlayStation's latest comments on releasing live-service games together on both platforms. According to the report, LEGO Horizons Adventures will also support Cross-Platform co-op mode and there will be two editions of the game available: a standard edition and a deluxe edition.
Apparently it is.

I'm trying to understand why we are arguing over whether this is a 1st party game and if it breaks the rules of non-GaaS 1st party games day one on PC....
lol

It's one of the seven stages of grief cope.

You're on Neogaf mate its a staple around these parts, see also: is it actually first party or not.

Jim Ryan said a while back that they would evaluate each and every individual game and make the move that makes the most sense. You won't see every single PS game ported to PC, just like there will be some nuance in the way certain games are delivered.

In the case of Lego Horizon, it isn't a game that's a tentpole, it's just a spin-off and there might also be contractual obligations with Lego to release it on PC. It makes sense to launch this as a multiplatform release. Likewise, I would expect a game like Killzone to also be multiplat out of the gate even if it's not strictly GAAS because shooters tend to live and die by their multiplayer and they would want to implement a strong player base from the start.

This changes nothing. Their next big AAA game will not be on PC Day 1. It will take at least a year, but some gaffers are allergic to nuance and common sense and would rather platform war.

Might be. Really don't care either way. But it seems very unlikely that Sony risks its eco system with stuff that really matters. And this doesn't matter. It's Lego.

Actually, on second thought, I hope they do go all in. I'll never be a PC guy, but if someone releases a high end console that plays PC games with a controller, and does not charge for online multiplayer access, Id probably let go of my PS5 anyway.

do not care about this kiddy trash. announce a real game.

Astro.. concord.. lego.. target audience for all 3 combined is about 10.

come on herman.

It's slowly but surely with the fake promises that people stay in the ecosystem.
