Oooh, I definitely disagree with the bolded. If not plotholes, then there are definitely areas where questions can be raised. The multiverses themselves weren't that bad, but the notion that choices create branches and the entire time travel stuff...didn't think it was that clean of a story at all. Unless someone really wants me to take another go about 'em, I'm just gonna let opinions be opinions.

As much as the scavenging sucked, it was kind of needed. It gave us something to do as we walked from A to B. It slowed the player down, and allowed Liz to talk about the world. Without it, most players would just sprint through the maps and miss even more of the story.

It was incredibly clean for what it was, in my opinion of course.

Compare Kojima to Levine, a director who does similar things narrative wise, but can barely wrap it up the same way levine did.

Kojima is a pretty bad storyteller, not even mediocre. He has lot of ideas/theories. But they're just that. He cannot resolve them to their proper conclusion in one cohesive narrative. Along with that he has flair for theatricality (overbearing animu influence no doubt). He has to depend on macguffins like NANOMACHINES or other ridiculous excuse for everything. He attempts to tackle many intriguing things like memory and memes, and for that he should be commended for. But God knows he needs someone else in the room to flesh out and properly form his bits and spurts of manic ideas.

Infinite really felt a lot more violent to me than BioShock 1. Stuff like tearing people's heads off, breaking their necks, burning them down to their skeletons, watching them blow their own heads off after you possess them. It was a bit much. I miss the simple elegance of my wrench.

Yeah, I was playing this with a non-gamer friend and she brought this up saying how bizarre it was to enjoy this mass killing event with such gory violence. And it hit me, even if it's just a game, it's pretty violent. Which is strange since Bioshock 1 had more backstory to cover the violence so I would've been fine if Infinite's level of violence had been present in the first game, but Infinite's violence does seem out of place some of the time (I think one of the few times it was right was when it was the story-oriented scenes like the nun setting herself on fire or Daisy Fitzroy killing Fink in front of his child [?] and then going for him; now that was done very well and actually impacted me as a player).

I also learned not to show violent games to my friends anymore haha.

I think that's just Post MGS4. MGS2, having played it not that long ago, manages to make it work within the context of Raiden's personal journey.

The problem with the MGS games is that each and every one of them is supposed to be Kojima's last Metal Gear. He never actually intended to finish those stories when he was writing them, but then MGS4 came along and he did what he could to tie them all together and it was pretty messy.

Well I was on ... vacation... so I wasn't able to post this month, but I'll throw in my love for this game now (completed it a few weeks ago) and consider it one of my favorite games of this generation! And thanks a lot for the OP/thread, it helped a ton

Finished Infinite yesterday, and enjoyed it despite a few issues:

1. Played on Hard, and it was a decent challenge but with two RIDICULOUS difficulty spikes compared to the rest of the game.

...

The second spike was the final 'defend the core' airship battle. Jesus, this was annoying on Hard. In the end I got so pissed off with it I dropped the difficulty down a notch and finished on Medium. Was sorry to do this after playing 99% of the game on Hard, but it was ruining my overall experience.

Okay, I've just heard that spamming 'return to sender' traps around the core makes this battle a whole lot more manageable on Hard. Question is, can I replay this level on Hard and therefore get the cheeve for finishing the whole game on Hard?

To reiterate, I'd played the rest of the whole game on Hard up to that point.

I am not certain but I can't see why not. Go to "chapters" and select that area (or the last area that displays 'hard mode') and you might as well find out. You don't have too much left anyway so it's not that bad. If you have Wintershield and Brittle Skin I implore you to equip them as it'll allow you to just keep jumping on and off the skyrail to maintain infinite life and then all you need to worry about is the core (which you can use the Return to Sender traps for). You aren't too far from the end anyway so you might as well just run through it and find out.

Also, a few people were looking for ringtones of various items (particular Songbird's call). While the user ThaiGrocer was kind enough to assist (both of his uploads here), Irrational has put up a file on their website containing a few ringtones if anybody is still looking for them. The ringtones included are "Lovers Inflamed", "Salt Machine", "Songbird Call", "Songbird Tune", and "Value Appreciation" and they are available here: http://irrationalgames.com/insider/bioshock-infinite-ringtones/

If infinite is anything like the previous two games then you have to beat every checkpoint on Hard to get the achievement, but it doesn't matter what order you beat them.

Thanks. Might give it a go. I probably need to upgrade the RtS vigor first - shame I spent all my money getting resurrected in the vault...

Yeah, that's really annoying. I wish there were fewer places to search through, holding more things inside of them.

For some reason the food thing felt a lot more weird in this one, too. I guess because Booker was a proper character and not mostly a blank slate for you to project yourself into. When Booker finds an entire birthday cake in a garbage can and eats it, it stands out.

Someone should make a patch where every instance where Booker eats something, you hear loud obnoxious eating noises.

Yeah... I did think it was a bit odd that he had to eat a potato out of a toilet. I suppose I didn't have to eat it, but it looked so delicious.

That part was supposed to show you how there is always "a man, a city and a lighthouse". They chose Rapture to make their point because why not? Nice fan service too

Exactly, awesome fan service, I didn't expect that to happen because I thought Levin wated to separate the two games from each other as much as possible, but that was done in an awesome way.

Are there lyrics to the Duke and Dimwit song anywhere?

Duke hears Billy's daddy spreading nasty lies about Father Comstock and reports it straightaway to the police.
Dimwit hears his own daddy criticizing his own ward president and says, "I'm too busy fishing to pass this on. Maybe tomorrow!"
Remember, boys and girls, don't be a Dimwit.
Dimwit hides from the night sky with apprehension, but Duke has nothing to fear from the Songbird.

Okay, I haven't been here since the game first came out.

What the hell is this? I don't remember this scene
Someone didn't play Bioshock 1 to a certain ending.
Wow, thanks guys

FUCK

That really sucks. People have even stated that you don't need to finish the other games to understand this one.
Spoilering it just because apparently it needs to be, apparently:
But there's really nothing to be understood. That scene only for a certain ending, and not everyone would have even seen it. It doesn't offer any specific insight but just visual parallels.

I never played Bioshock so when I first started this game I really thought Columbia was how "that city in the sea used to be". LULZ. I thought "Oooh, I guess at one point the city fell into the ocean?" I didn't even realize they have different name. One is Columbia and the other, Rapture.

edit: ad;lfkjasd;lkfjasd;

i spent energy writing this so i'm going to post it anyway.

there is a brief playable scene taking place in a version of bookers apartment in a version of october 8 1893. a version of that date was when lutece came to get the baby.

there is ambient sound of the fan, a child's mobile, and an industrial grinding.

booker, cognizant of an "Anna" through direct or indirect memory, calls out to Anna in a hushed tone. the player controls movement and view. the only interaction prompt is with the side door. when approaching the door, Booker cries "Anna" inquisitively... as he has noticed the mobile music and wonders if she is in there, or if it is anna, or something else.

When the player initiates the prompt "open the door", booker slowly places his left hand on the wooden door and pushes gently.

the door creaks...

"Anna.... is that you?"

the player in the first person perspective gets a glimpse of the side of the crib, seemingly the same crib as the other shown version of october 8, 1893. A final musical flourish is initiated through the musical mobile, and the screen turns black before the door is open all the way.

So mean, thanks for posting.

Out of the previous bookers that went through the trial of resucing elizabeth (122 i believe?), he never rowed during that sequence. Thus the, "He doesn't row? No he doesn't row"

Yup. Like DatDude said, in this sequence of events, they already know Booker doesnt row.

So basically he's saying that it's not that Booker doesn't row. He just doesn't row in this particular instance? Got it! Thanks!

I always took it that Booker not rowing is a constant in each universe, like the coin landing on Heads.

This is actually what's happening. Lutece emphasises 'doesn't' and not 'row', meaning they already know that Booker wont row as he never has in any of the previous attempts.

As mentioned earlier, MGS4 was never supposed to exist. MGS2 was supposed to end the series(the timeline anyway) and then MGS3 was supposed to be a nice trip into the past to show Big Boss in his prime and how he came to be. Sadly Kojima was pressured (threatened at times) in to making MGS4 and had to explain a lot of things he intended to be left open to interpretation. A shame really.

Wanted to ask about Connection between bioshock and infinity again ?
Also when we first travel trough tear we see people whom we have killed standing there in pain and Elizabeth explain they are having memories from other dimension of being killed?
Why does not this happen to booker or later on in the game. this is bugging me for quite some time

i have a question..why comstock want to buy brok's baby ?

comstock is booker dewit from another dimension. when comstock used the tear machine he became infertile and in order to complete his dream he wanted his own bloodline so he bought bookers daughter
