BioShock PS3 Trailer

Can anyone recap the new content? I haven't been keeping up on this

I think they are supposed to be downloadble situations that you have to solve that have nothing to do with the main plot of Bioshock.

So it's not even included on the disc? No graphics upgrade or anything?

I already bought the PC version like a month before this was announced and I haven't even played it yet (outside the demo)..... :(

Yeah...I won't be paying 60 bucks for some year-old port.

and WTF at the retarded Uncharted hate.
If you haven't played this game yet, your statement is very retarded. It was the GotY 2007 and probably one of the best game experiences ever. And you're not willing to pay 60$ (the dollar aint even worth shit, compared to the euro you're comming of damn cheap) for that experience, even if it includes new DLC... this makes me really sad.

One of the biggest reasons why I'm buying this game is trophies, seriously. God I love it.

If you only have a PS3, how the hell can you NOT want this game and whine about the price?

What is the matter with you people

Depending on my finanaces, I'll be buying this.

EDIT: Just watched the trailer. Forgot how good this looked. I'll be buying this day one, regardless of finances.

I'll whore my firstborn to Michael Jackson if I have to.

Y'know you might want to hold out for that first pricedrop instead. I whored my first to Jacko for Psychonauts. The kid is still sore about it and the game wasn't all that.

2KGames picked out a great week to release the first footage of Bioshock on Playstation 3, planned to be released in October.

Features:
• All-new PLAYSTATION 3 system exclusive content: In addition to the original revolutionary game experience, PLAYSTATION 3 system fans can enjoy a brand new difficulty mode – Survivor – as well as enjoy Trophy support as they explore Rapture. And the experience doesn’t end there – all new exclusive BioShock downloadable content will be available only on the PLAYSTATION 3 system after launch.

Looks amazing. But I'm not sure if I can afford to buy this game.. There are far too many games coming out within a small time period.

With a story that's actually good.

After beating Uncharted I immediately wanted to go back and play again. With Bioshock it was a great ride but never wanted to play it again. YMMV.

Honestly, the bonus contents for PS3 are not attractive for veterans. What exactly are the "exclusive DLC contents?" Bioshock's strengths are in its gorgeous landscapes and matured narratives and if 2k isn't going to expanding the story, and there's no Big Daddy/artbook around, I'm skipping this. I own the 360 and PC versions, I don't really fancy myself buying Bioshock a 3rd time without proper incentives.

This trailer makes me want to forget everything about Bioshock, so I could play it again.

Or at least they should do a prequel where you can visit Rapture when it was all new and alive. You could visit more buildings, travel more around, like in a real underwater city with mini-u-boats.

BioShock PS3 Exclusive DLC Detailed

The company has created "challenge rooms" that will challenge players to make use of plasmids and other abilities to overcome undisclosed obstacles.

"Challenge rooms retain the flavor of Rapture, but they're not trying to retrofit new story or new levels into the original game," said a 2K representative to Shacknews. "We're very, very respectful of the original experience."

The DLC will be accessed from the main menu. A Portal-style timer starts at the beginning of each challenge, and the player will be faced with a puzzle.

One example shown off was a carnival-themed level. The player had to compete in carnival games, using plasmid power to throw tennis balls into crates. The player then entered a room with a safe, where a series of trap bolts protected the safe. The player had to use telekensis to move the bolts, then continue to solve another series of mini-puzzles in order to save a Little Sister from a malfunctioning ferris wheel.

BioShock PS3 survivor mode unveiled

"You're more vulnerable, enemies are tougher, every resource is more precious," says 2K Marin of the difference between survivor and hard difficulties, on the Cult of Rapture website.

"You won't be blazing through spaces. You won't be flush with resources. Every fight is a decisive, life-or-death struggle."

2K Marin knows some like of us like it hard, and that some like it really hard. But the studio also feels the Plasmid and Tonic abilities within BioShock become more interesting when they are forced into sparing and creative use.

In survivor mode, every enemy will resist as well as deal out more damage, and resurrecting in Vita-Chambers robs you of EVE, making death more inconvenient. BioShock PS3 will award a Trophy for finishing the game on Hard with Vita-Chambers turned off, incidentally.

Setting traps, mastering your environment, and using non-direct Plasmids such as Target Dummy and Enrage will help in survivor mode, hopefully leaving you with a slither of life and the feeling tactics and skill were triumphant rather than sheer force alone.

"From the first fight in the Welcome to Rapture level onward, I don't think anyone will have trouble distinguishing this from hard mode," concluded 2K Marin.

I'd prefer if 2K would go in and add "new" content. Instead of creating some bullshit difficulty.

Is it just me or does the video look a bit better than the 360 version?

I own the 360 version, but I'm probably not going to pick this up again for the DLC unless it's cheaper. I may be more inclined to pick it up again if it runs better on the PS3. Good deal for PS3 only owners though.

I almost regret buying the limited edition for PC, since this one will have the most content (but will probably have shortcomings in the graphical areas, as most late ports). Almost.

Jesus it still looks great!

About time I say, I haven't played anything except Super Stardust on my PS3 since MGS4...

IGN says it has better textures.

It's quite obvious that 2K is taking full advantage of the PS3's Blu-ray discs to pack in cleaner high resolution textures for every facet of the game; while we didn't see any pro-pixel leatherization diffusion within our early sections of the title, we wouldn't be surprised if it makes an appearance in the later stages, such as Arcadia or Fort Frolic.

To me even if you weren't a fan of the shooting mechanics and amount of depth per say, the game is still worth visiting for RAPTURE alone. What a fucking place the devs created in it!

you people trying to compare uncharted to fucking bioshock are absolutely insane.

i mean really? i thought you guys could tell a decent game from a FUCKING AMAZING game.

why cant you just take the uncharted crap to one of the billion other retard threads.
