BioShock PS3 Trailer

The trailer looks really good, in fact it looks like the PC version at the best textures/shaders settings. I think I'm going to buy the PS3 version because my PC didn't do justice to the game during intense action moments and unfortunately graphics become ugly pretty quickly if you start turning off options/effects.

But IMO it could be a mistake to make a 'year later port' full price. A 39/49$ release would sell so much better that it could more than make up for the cheaper price. But obviously they don't agree with me :D

If this port had come this summer I think it would've faired better than it probably will in October.

Do want, probably getting a Ps3 when the 80gig lands here later this month supposedly, so I'm psyched for this.

I'm going to get around to replaying this game again soon. Got damn I love it.

EDIT: good lord, has there ever been a game so vigorously defended by a fanbase than Uncharted? Every fucking thread on any topic has some moron spouting off about how good Uncharted is, followed by 15 more moronic RAWR posts. :lol

That's a well made trailer, maybe even the best one the game had so far. Also nice to see that they're confident enough using in-game graphics for the whole thing, even with no artificial AA added.

It's the first game I bought for my ps3 and I really enjoyed it, but god damn, some people are so fucking annoying about it. They act as if it's the only good ps3 game.

Well if you followed this thread, it all began with a joke directed at Kittonwy, and then the usual trolls jumped in and started attacking that game even though the topic has nothing to do with it. So can't really be compared to when people mention the game in other topics (that have nothing to do with Uncharted); I agree it's annoying when some keep posting the screenshots. I think it's fair to defend the game in this topic though.

What are you doing in a PS3 related topic anyway? ;)

Everybody who hasnt played it should pick it up. Its a great game. I think its over hyped a little bit but still one of the best games this generation. Like others though there is just too much coming out this holiday for me to play this up again. When I can pick up a used copy for cheap I may pick it up and sell my 360 version. They should have put more new content in though. If it had alot of extra content then people would be more willing to double dip.

Playing this on the PC right now, great game. If you haven't played it before and want to get it on PS3 I would go for it.

Ico - and for much the same reasons. Underrated - or better say underperformed at retail compared to what those who loved it expected it to do :\

Yup with an actual twist that's mildy suprising.

Yeah - mildly is putting it about right. The whole slave thing was pretty neat, but the other part, all I could think about is

When does Atlas turn into SHODAN?

so they took their time to improve the water effects? great. they added some nice features in the ps3 version. i'd like to try this new survival mode.... but without the revival chambers (""i chose the impossible"trophy) seems very frustrating to say the least....

It's not a problem at all. Just play like all the shooters you use to play. "My that was a good fight and I still have health and ammo too. I better save I should I will."

^ I urge you all to not feed this, people. This shit is/should be over already.

I'm not sure if I'm reading you right, but are you saying it would be frustrating without the chambers?

If that's the case, I disagree with you.

I think the chambers made the game far too easy. You could suicide run a Big Daddy to reduce his health, and when you were brought back in the chambers, he would still have the reduced heath while you were fully recharged.

I simply reloaded my game from my last save file. I'm not trying to tell you how to play it, but I think the chambers take a lot of the fun out of the game.

Great trailer, I'm not sure if I will purchase BioShock at full price though.

The E3 talk that came after it with the woman wearing the funny hat was TERRIBLE. Utter shit.

it will be very hard to complete the "i chose the impossible" trophy. that's all;.. very easy to understand.

but yes, you're very elitist and cool that you want to do every level from the beginning.. like all of us... cause we all da hardcooooore

Wow, type out a nice reply and get treated like an asshole. Thanks.

EDIT: and who said anything about starting from the beginning of a level? Why would you have to do that?

It is too easy with the vitachambers off, although loading and trying to kill the big daddies costs a lot of money/ammo. I am halfway thru the 360 version I'm going to have to finish the rest, and I've had it since midnight the day it came out.

This is one of the most bitter threads I've ever seen in GAF.You would think that Bioshock went and kick half of you posters square in the nuts. Of course this would be only after leaving a flaming baggie of horse shit outside of Naughty Dog's HQ.

Jesus...

today i switched (for a week) consoles with a friend, now i have bioshock and i dont know... its strange (could be the controler - dont like it...10 years with ps-pad so..)
i like the setting, but the rest is ...... wait first ill finish it then ill talk.

a shame that he does not have halo3...would like to play that to :(
NG2 rocks...

That's what I was trying to say. It has nothing to do with being hard core or whatever bullshit that guy was spouting. IMO it removes any sort of challenge from the game. /shrug

yeah, but on the hardest (NEW) mode, you might want to give them a try.. maybe.. i dunno.

from save point i meant.

OK, so welcome to gaming from the past 25 years. Loading from save points is old ground...how you equate using them to being hardcore and elitist I have no idea.

The vitachambers are something different. A feature added, IMO, that strips the challenge from the game.

And like I said, I just disagreed with you and you got all insulting on me.

It's clear you really don't have a lot to contribute to a discussion. People who've actually played the game are trying to give you their opinions, but you just can't help being a jerk.

In some ways that is really lucky.
Everything post twist is downhill for Bioshock.
Still, such a phenominal game.

It's absolutely the apex of the game, but I think some of the later parts get a lot of undue hate.

sigh........ i never insulted you.. i even said i was the same. read it back.
i DID play and finish the game. all i was trying to say was this (and read the IGN preview so you're up to date): the hardest trophy to get is no longer your easy peasy walk in the park with chambers. i THINK it will be very very difficult to complete it. that was all.

untill you came in and started to say what EVERYBODY here said allready, inlcuding me.

Sorry, I took the 'you're very elitist and cool' at face value. Silly me.

I don't hate the later parts or anything
, but it completely pales in comparison to, well, pretty much everything before it. It is also just all the wack ass the shit that happens. And more fetch quests! Oh, and from a purely narrative stand point, it takes the game down several notches.

I entirely agree, and didn't mean to make it sound like you were hating.

The first 2/3 of the game is so outstandingly Game of the Forever good, that the last 1/3 can't help but disappoint.

Still, I loved the
nursery for the little sisters
and thought it fit well with some of the content in the earlier parts of the game. It was a kind of 'behind the scenes' level
along with the labs, which I also enjoyed
that kind of filled in what was happening and where some of these creatures were while you were playing other parts.

Just joining in here so I have no idea what's happened in the thread after the OP and reading through page 4. Anyway, I thought the trailer looked great and I can't wait to play this when it's released on PS3 as I don't have a 360. Just PSWii for the time being. Have a PC that I tried to load the demo on, but I always got an error message on startup (PC gaming FTW!) and was never able to get it to run despite updating drivers, etc...

Anyway, I think it looks great and I'm glad we're getting Bioshock on PS3. Was one of the 360 "exclusives" that I most wanted. Still would not mind getting Alan Wake.
