I was out today, buying an xbox 360 holiday bundle at Best Buy as a present. The clerk ringing me up asked me why I was buying it today, when I could get it for $50 less on Friday. I explained how I am too claustrophobic to fight the crowds and mentioned how it was a present for a neighborhood halfway house for adults with development disabilities. She asked a passing manager over, explained the situation, and the manager adjusted to price down to the Black Friday price!

Got to love customer service like that. :)

Very awesome story, thanks for sharing it!

Not a problem. I just thought it was really cool of that manager and cashier to see an opportunity to go above and beyond to help someone out. :)

thanks, but it was the cashier and manager were the nice ones. :)

Well, the opportunity involved helping someone out who was doing something selfless and kind for someone else. Really awesome.

Awesome, dude. Glad to hear. :)

So can I get a quick confirmation that the Seagate 3TB internal drive for $90 deal at Newegg is a good deal / value? I needed some more internal storage, right around this amount. Should I wait, or is this about as good as it gets?

The price you're seeing is not amazon's but a 3rd party seller. Probably sold out.

Yeah sold out as I clicked on 2-day shipping button. Ended up getting the newegg deal instead.

Anyone know the price for the upcoming Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5537 deal on Amazon?

Just a quick reminder for everyone jumping on Amazon for deals:

Be sure to set up 1-Click as it will make your chances of snagging what you want easier.

Once the next couple of days are over, you can turn off 1-Click.

I don't get how this works. Don't these people who line up days in advance have jobs. Are they missing on pay or using their vacation time to save a few hundred bucks? I just don't get the logistics of it, it does not seem profitable in the end.

(That last line should be read as a Ferengi.)

Two things I am on the watch for.

Mad Men series 5 on Blu along with Game of Thrones season 1. Anyone know of any great deals for these? I see Amazon has Mad Men for 34.

I'b building a gaming PC at a budget for my brother this Xmas, are there any particularly good deals on mobo, video cards, or CPU within the Newegg deals that have gone out?

How the fuck am I supposed to look for external harddrives when the reviews are more inconsistent than GAF? Seriously, it doesn't matter the brand, price point, storage space. It's always a split of:
"This works wonderfully! Touch and go just like the description said. I love it!"
"Now I know everyone's HDs are breaking, but I can bootleg it even if it does void your warranty!"
"It was doing great for the first two days and then it bricked on me!"
"I'M NEVER BUYING FROM TOSHIBA AGAIN"

Mind helping me with this, GAF? I'm looking for 1TB minimum.

Got a SSD from amazon at a pretty nice price.

Got my main targets already. Just going for bonuses at this point.
Are there still any deals going on there for SSDs? What price and model did you get? I'm still shopping around to replace mine.

The $300 50" LED 1080p Toshiba television door-buster at Sears was looking mighty fine, until a buddy talked to them and found out they're getting FOUR for the entire store. I know I hear about stores only getting a few door busters that they sell at a lose, enticing customers into the store to buy other stuff when the door busters sell out, but this is ridiculous. Four tv's in an entire store's sale(on a holiday) is border-line false advertisement. Fuck you Sears. I assume Best Buy, Walmart, and all the other places are going to pull this same crap.

I just bought a 40" Samsung LED 1080p for $400(on Amazon and TigerDirect at the moment) with even better picture quality, instead. I'd rather pay the extra $100 rather than get stabbed/trampled trying to save a little money on an entertainment-related buy.

This is how it has always been. Those crazy deals make the headlines, but only go to those willing to lineup for days before. I'm not sure why the shock.

I've heard of stores only getting 15 items of something, or 20, and it shocked me a little then. Four? That's a whole new level, imo. Next year will be two.

Anyone who's been hitting up the Amazon lightning deals, what's the fastest you've seen something get to 100% claimed?

I remember last year a few games went instantly. Couldn't even add them to the cart. I bought a 64GB microsd card on Monday that went in about 30 seconds.

Damn kmart is open 6am to 4pm tomorrow for their first doorbusters. Cold blooded. Great deals on tvs but kmart always seemed sketchy and i dont want to go out of my way just to have an arguement with a clueless employee.

Was at a Best Buy like an hour ago, three chairs already outside with a barricade in place

Two people were sitting in the seats when I left

Just copped a $9 after rebate GT610 from Newegg. I hope it's actually capable of 3D playback at a decent framerate. I'm up to like $50 in trinkets so far ($5 500 Days of Summer Blu-Ray, GT610, etc). I need to staahhhp.

Those $179 40'' tvs are going to depend on sheer luck, aren't they?

Or you can hope it's like the $299 Panny Plasma's Buy.com had two years ago.

They fucked up their allocation and everyone got one! And then they cancelled and gave everyone a $50 gift card...and then revoked those and ended up getting everyone their TV.

I was one of the lucky few (hundred).

TV is glorious, if only it didn't have the PURPLE SNAKES...bleh...at least it's only in my bedroom.

It sounds like the goal for Best Buy is to get their sale prices on the website by midnight tonight, according to a moderator's comment on their Facebook page.

I'm ready.

Hrmm... for those who've shopped bestbuy.com for Black Friday in the past, would it make sense to navigate to the product page now and just start hitting refresh around midnight when the pricing changes?

Also, I'm hoping to get Assassin's Creed III for the 360, but when I search on their website, the product page says "Coming Soon" - not sure what to make of that...
