I'm in the market for a 55'' TV this year. Thats it, and cheap games of course. But something JUST came up that might kill BF for me this year :(.

I wouldn't recommend getting one, no. Basing this off of my gut feeling, as I commonly see them in Wal-Mart and the like. If you want a good TV, get one of the well known brands.

I'd prefer a Vizio, tbh. I've heard they're pretty good at affordable larger screen TVs.

I didn't even bother going out last year or buying anything. This year I'm hoping to buy my wife a new Macbook Air, since we have about $500 in rewards dollars on our American Express card that I haven't used. Hopefully there'll be a sale, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

A word of warning about Black Friday TVs:

Be sure to check the model numbers and make sure there are plenty of established reviews before purchasing. Many TV manufacturers will pump out a special model # that appears right around BF and is of a lower quality than their usual sets in order to hit those low doorbuster prices. I've seen this firsthand and the BF models can have lower quality materials or issues with quality control during assembly.

Best Buy has repeatedly had the Air for around $800 the past few months. Personally I'm waiting for the retina model though. I use a 13" Air for work and while the display isn't killing my eyes or anything, my co-worker has a 13" Macbook Pro with retina and the display just looks so much nicer.

Yeah. You hear horror stories all the time about this and people buying super cheap no name TVs that shit the bed not too long after purchase.

I don't need a new smartphone but want one.

Are there any Moto X 2014, Nexus 5, or HTC GPE deals? I'd consider an OPO at this point if the stock ROM is everything it's hyped up to be.

What do you guys think about 4k TVs? I know there isn't a lot of content out there, but what would 1080p content look like on a 4k set? Its looking like a 70" 1080p set and a 60" 4k will be around the same price. Its still too early to adopt 4k, right?

I wonder about this too. How do live sports look on the 4k sets?

For us it was about future proofing instead of having to buy another in a couple years when there's tons of 4K content out. That said, there are already 4K media streamers and 4K blu ray players will hit next holiday season. So you could wait until this time next year if you don't need a tv right now and don't see yourself streaming content. As for 1080p content on there, looks great. We've watched plenty of blu rays on ours.

Looks great, watch Football all day every Sunday and Suns games.

Going to look primarily for game deals this year. Maybe if there is a superb deal on a 32" tv, I'll jump on it, but it's not really at the top of my list.

Wait for the UHD standard. The improved color support is like most of the reason to upgrade. You'll also likely run into HDCP/HDMI 2.0 issues if you buy right now.

The 50 inch I got from BF last year working like a charm for me so no need to TV hunt for me this year. I hope there are some good game deals though.

Ssd
Gpu
46-40 tv
48+ tv for the folks
New airsoft rifle.,
All in one pc for pops

Those are the key points for me this year. Probably only end up with one or two lol. Be chillin with my feet up sippin on some green tea, ready to blast them online deals.
