Black Friday 2014 |OT| Forget Thanksgiving, Black Friday starts after Halloween

This is the first year in 5 years that I will be able to enjoy Black Friday on a consumer level instead of a retail employee. I used to be a manager at Target for the past 5 years and the Holidays can be soul crushing. I quit in Feb of this year and work IT now, so I can run into Target and tear shit up along with the masses without having to worry about cleaning it up.

I worked at target for 7 years in retail. I understand your pain.

Do the game selling places usually have any increased trade in days for games around this time? I know target just ended one but their policy was only 3 games pet drivers license.

Amazons sales were shit last year. Hoping for better this time around.

It would take an amazing deal to get me in stores this year. Planning on doing my shopping online.

I am in the market for a great wi-fi bluray player.

Apologies. Guess I took it the wrong way.

They've gotten a 3DS each for their birthday with some games. Things like that.

The dollar value is usually the same, just spread out over multiple things instead of just one.
Man, I've always felt spoiled with my mom's $200 spending limit, hahaha. Couldn't imagine getting an iPad.

JCPenny's
Kohl's

IIRC, the schedule basically goes;

Smaller retailers (Harbor Freight, etc)
Department Stores (Kohl's, JCPenny's, Sears, Macy's, etc)
Electronic Stores (Best Buy)
Big Stores (Walmart, Target)

Walmart got bit real bad by an early leak a while ago, so they're real cagey about it. Any Black Friday electronic-related deals usually come in a bit later, as they're more likely to change.

So yeah, Best Buy is probably soon. That will likely confirm the GTAV/TLOU PS4 bundle being the Black Friday bundle.

Hoping for some Pre-BF price error /matching this time around! Missed the grand Walmart computer/TV deal last year.

Looking for a nice deal on a 40 inch, my old 720p 32 inch samsung is really getting long in the tooth.

Unlikely to see any of the big guns soon. There are possibly going to be deals on games releasing this week so seeing anything now would kill those potential week one sales of those titles. Same for next week with Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age.

I hope for this week, but probably nothing until closer to the end of next week.

I'm still waiting for Gaf to have its Kayak Meetup.

JCP always has pretty crappy deals. Their clothes are always around 40-50% off.

So on BF they just strip those deals, and replace them with B1G1 Free deals.

No savings at all.

Just wanted to check in. Hello Black Friday Soldiers. I am already pumped for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, where we are all in here buying time, while F5ing the hell out of all the different sites for those online deals.

I am pretty much exclusively and online Black Friday Shopper, but that is because I normally get whatever I want online and dont have to go into stores. Cant wait to get this party started!

Wow I'm in the same boat. Except my Samsung has a weird ghosting issue at the top of the screen which suddenly appeared a few weeks ago. I hope a good HDTV deal pops up.

got a sams club ad in the mail thats listing a 60" 4k vizio for $999 available for one day (nov 15). regular msrp is $1650. originally i set a $1000 budget for a 70" tv this black friday. the wife saw it and said it looks nice and we should get it. thats after her saying no to my 65" suggestion and her saying we need a 70" a few months ago. i still havent seen what offers black friday will bring for 70" 1080p tvs, but im torn between the 10" difference and the "future proof" 4k resolution. ive stated my concerns earlier in the thread about going 4k right now. what would gaf do?

I bought the biggest TV I could afford by going slightly over my budget a few years ago and I don't regret a second I've had with this big bad beast (60" for 1500 bucks). If I had to do it over again this year, I'd go for 70... because when the hell will you upgrade that big of a TV anyway. I certainly won't upgrade my 60 unless it's a damn good price/size ratio... I really don't want to haul this thing anywhere now!

Target coming through on them games. $25 Mordor.

Hopefully Best Buy can do Mordor + Evil Within for $25. That would be awesome.

To clarify, does GCU work with these prices as well? So in addition to these prices a GCU member at Best Buy could get 20% off?

Looking for a good 40-42 in., 1080p TV, preferably Samsung.

Where's the best place for something like this generally? I'm preferring going early Friday as opposed to during Thanksgiving dinner.

I really hope Best Buy redoes that Holiday Shopping Event they were doing last Saturday with that free XBox Live with an XBox One. I was this close to trading in my 360 to them for 150 towards it, but I wasn't available at the times they set.

If it's a price advertised by Best Buy, your GCU discount applies. If you're price matching another retailer, it doesn't apply.
