If you have a receiver then its pretty easy. Plug your PS4 into the receiver via an optical cable, set the PS4 to 2 channel, receiver to 2 channel, connect headphones to receiver.

If you don't have a receiver then you can get the excellent Astro MixAmp Pro. This will also give you virtual surround sound, which is nice.

I reallly appreciate the explanation, but I'm really bad at this stuff. Would this solve the issue of not having a mic? I have a nice Sony receiver, so sounds like I can make use of that though. very intrigued.

NP. If you don't have a mic... you don't have a mic... so no, this would not solve the issue of not having a mic. You could pic of the PS Camera which has a mic and is dirt cheap right now. This with the 598s/receiver would 100% work as an effective "headphone and mic".

Anyway to convert the 598s to a ps4 headset? Pulled the trigger, would be nice to double up.

There are some aftermarket cables that have an inline mic like with phone headsets.
I'd imagine one of those would work. There are some on Amazon from taking a quick look.

I do have the camera, which if I'm not using the golds I actually use as an effective mic without any feedback/echo. That's what I was leaning towards doing. I was surprised a few years back when my cousin was using his Beats as a headset and for whatever reason that had a mic built in as well.

I was looking into those, wasn't sure if they would work on ps4 though. I guess we'll find out :). Super excited to have some seemingly semi-legit headphones for once though.

I've been using the default iPhone earbud things on the PS4 controller and it works.
Hmm. I have a pair of HD598s as well. Maybe I should try one of the cables too.

Same. I am going to sell my Astro A50s. The sound quality is pretty garbage for anything outside of gaming. I was originally going to get the 598s but they were like $200 at the time.

Newegg is getting hammered right now.

Did something just go up? Looked at their deals in their email earlier but nothing stood out.

Anyone got any tips on 1TB HDD for PS4? See some for $40-70 on Amazon but was hoping for cheaper, maybe.

Also, do we know if anywhere else might have $25 Splatoon? Was the only game I couldn't get at WalMart :/

I just use the standard PS4 mic under the headphones. Never had a complaint.

Almost got the xbox1 deal at target. 299 bundle also get a free $60 gift card.

Wife told me no though. Been a long time since I've had a woman tell me I couldn't get a toy at the store.

Uncharted PS4 bundle for $250 with AMEX or Visa Checkout.

Amazon is matching some movie deals but I don't know if I already missed Fury Road. :\ If it hasn't gone up then sometime tonight I guess?

Is this TV worth it? Anyone know of any better deals?

Need a fairly cheap TV for my living room - I have a 50" Panny plasma in my room, but want something for the living room.

http://amzn.com/B010Q8ETR0

I have the 49" version and am extremely, marvelously happy with it. The SmartTV apps are actually good and responsive, and allow you to playback 4K content from Netflix and YouTube.

I say go for it, as long as you're ok with only 2 HDMI ports (rectified by getting a switch).

Considering either this one or spending a bit more on 7200RPM on Amazon. Arghhh.

I have a one time use 10% off coupon for Dell that I got in the mail the other day - I don't know if it'll work in conjunction with their Black Friday deals, but you might as well give it a shot if you're ordering something from Dell. Pm for the code.

To anyone on the fence, Sennheiser HD598 are worth $100 AND a left nut. Get em while they're hot.

I already bought the ATH-M50x deal but I'm contemplating getting the 598s now. I already own a pair of M50s but the right channel is really wonky. I've sent it in for repair a few times and they haven't found out what the problem was so I've given up and decided to buy a new pair.

The 598s seem really nice but the only problem it seems is the sound leak. I do most of my listening and gaming/movies late at night so I'm just concerned how much of an issue it will be.

How do you do this with only one port on the controller though?
Ah.
My headphones connect to an amp. Only the mic is plugged into the controller.
If you need to use the controller for both there are adapters to make that work as well.
Something like this.

That was just the first thing that turned up. The key is a 4 post adapter that splits out the mic.

They're certainly only for home listening. Sound leak gives them a wonderful soundstage, but is prohibitively embarrassing in public.

I wonder why Best Buy doesn't ship internationally or at the very least ship to a freight forwarder. I would have spent a lot more money there this year if they did. Amazon does does both and is my only option so I paid a little more to get my items from them. I'm getting kind of sick of their lightning deals when other sites can have them up for the whole sale.

I'm not sure if this is known, but I think Best Buy is selling 2tb external slim seagate hdd for $49.99 in store. I managed to buy one after I went to customer service to address the price error they had at the store. The item was scanned for $119.99, which was being sold for $69.99, but I went to customer service and they sold it to me for $49.99.

Damn all these headphone posts make me feel like i messed up getting the sony 950 bt's at $100 *_*

Anyone know of any good deals for an everyday use laptop?

Although plugging them into the DS4 will probably hurt sound quality a bit. I would imagine you could plug the headphones into the receiver and then plug the PS4 mic into the DS4.

Are there any < $200 mini-pc deals out there that would make for a good media server with an external HD? I'm looking for something that'll be able to reasonably transcode video on the fly and can be hooked up to my router so I can use it as a media server.

Fuck yes, got my headphones.

$95 for a pair of those is a steal.
I'm still debating whether or not to get these.

I've had them in my cart for awhile, but right now I'm using Astro A50s, and I'm not sure if the Sennheiser HD 598 is going to be wasted on whatever integrated soundcard my mobo has, as my Astro A50 currently uses the mixamp it came with.

Anyone know of any good deals on soundbars? Also can they work any T.V. or are there specific ones to each?
I've been looking at those today, and I assume most will work with any TV so long as they're wired. Just be careful, because there's some like the wireless Samsung ones which only work with specific Samsung TVs.

You need an adapter like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SP0WAQ/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Than a clip on PC mic. The sound quality is good, obviously not getting the best of the 598s this way, but still better than 90% of the options out there. I've been using the 598s with a Zalman clip on for the last year on my PS4 and I have no complaints and no one has complained about having a hard time hearing me.

Any in particular you would recommend?
