I bought these last year and love them. You don't need an amp for these to sound good.

I use them at home though. They are open ear so sound bleeds through very loudly. I wouldn't use them in an office if the office was quiet

Does anyone know if the Sennheiser HD 598's are worth it at $95?

I already use m-80 crossfades, but need something for home vinyl listening and I think these may be it.

Saw you decided to grab, but just in case.

It's hard to give blanket recommendations because some people prefer different sound profiles, but I really like mine. Last time they were on sale for this price I bought several and everyone that received them liked them as well.

Full disclosure: I bought mine to replace my ancient, but still fully functional Sennheiser 580s. I like their sound and the comfort is top tier. IMO it's a really great deal though I prefer the original throwback gaudy coloring :]
