Blizzcon Discussion thread of "you made how many billion?"

God damn I'm happy I'm not a fan of SCII, how the heck can the Diablo-Warcraft-Starcraft-fans survive the hype? Two games is way too much for me.
 
I'll say this for the live-stream, I'm glad that Geoff is asking the Blizzard guys about where the movie is at.

~ Metzen and Pardo are working in collaboration with Sam Raimi and a secret screenwriter for the Warcraft movie.
~ They haven't gotten to a point where they're hiring a composer yet.
~ They want to have a screenplay done before Raimi gets to work in Spidey 4 next year.
~ "There's a lot of interest"amongst the Blizzard cinematics team to work on the film (visual-effects wise).
~ Sam has a pretty solid vision of what he wants the film to be. "It's going to be right."

Certainly, Azshara and the Naga have been mysteriously absent in all of this, aside from the new Vashj'ir zone. My guess? They're holding that stuff for later down the road. I think we'll be fighting Deathwing pretty early on, with Azshara becoming the end-of-expansion boss.

Little known fact, he's been on Recruit-a-friend with those Defias Pillagers. Easy XP when they kill players before they get their first spell interrupt.

Hehe, tell me about it, I'm a big fan of all three and I literally don't know what to do with myself.

I guess it's a good thing DIII isn't coming until 2014.

What can I say? Everything about this expansion is a masterstroke.
Keeping the old world viable and populated is the best thing they can do to prevent WoW from collapsing under its own weight.
I haven't played since Burning Crusade, but this has me jonesing.

I'm really curious how they're going to handle flying mounts in some of the old zones. It's going to mean a complete remodeling of some very iconic areas. I hope they retain some of their old flavor.

Not hating on Raimi or anyone else specifically, but this whole movie idea scares the shit out of me. Even though I don't play WoW anymore, I still have a fondness for that world and my own perspective on how it should be experienced... and yeah, I'm not sure there's any way they could keep from disappointing me.
 
I swear to god if Vanilla doesn't include new music I will only buy one copy of the expansion.

They showed them in the stream: Undercity looks fucking huge and Orgrimmar looks... something like Evil Orgrimmar. Don't know of screen grabs or official shots, though.

Ouch. I didn't play DII until last year so I'm still alright with that. Now the wait for SCII... I've been waiting so long for it to come.

Anyone know of a good place that shows a summary of the announcements, OP hasn't updated the first post?

And is Diablo 3 really not coming until 2014?!
 
I never got around to playing much of WotLK, but I'm really excited for this. I love the old world, so I'm pumped to see what changes were made and to explore this all over again. I've wanted to play as a goblin since WoW launched and now I finally get that chance. This is the most excited I've been about WoW for a long time, enough to bring me back soon and think twice about getting into Aion, like I was originally planning.

Don't worry, it's supposed to be a story about Varian. So that means chock full of the most generic ass fantasy cliches you can bother to fathom. Arthas went through all the trouble of turning half the world into zombies, and these fucks think people wanna watch a movie about some schmuck humie king.

'Sarcastic' has such a negative connotation. I can't wait. But realistically, I'm expecting it to hit summer 2012.

They let something slip a year or two ago about multiple expansions. I'm sure nothing is set in stone, but given the expandable nature of the game and Blizzard's new commitment to keeping the goods flowing for their classic properties, I'd bet my hat on it.

I think it was an off-handed comment about how we might see the Necromancer return in a future expansion, or something like that. I don't remember the exact quote.

That's obviously dark iron, which is cool as fuck. Hopefully with Deathwing out and about it means the horde reappropriated the Blackrock clan or something. Rend Jr. Jr. 4 Warchief pls.

Assume they're all bullshit. Because they are.

Blizzard NEVER gives release dates until we're within a month or two of release.
