Pretty much what I have been stating for the past 2 weeks.Interfectum said:Q: Will I need the expansion to be able to experience the Cataclysm changes?
A: When the Cataclysm occurs, it will occur for all players, whether they have purchased the expansion or not--you will no longer be to play in the original version of Kalimdor or the Eastern Kingdoms. However, certain features such as the new zones, new races, and new level cap will only be accessible to players who purchase the expansion.

"No part of Azeroth has been left untouched. Except maybe Westfall. Old Blanchy is cool," says Metzen.

Perhaps this is one of the big reasons why the New Council of Tirisfal has integrated Thrall as their new Guardian. As a Shaman, he has definite ability to talk to these elemental planes.Tamanon said:Hmm....elemental planes are the reason for the changes in the planet, guess it makes sense, should add some variety.
that's essentially what they've been doing this entire time. they're updating it incrementally.... surely you've noticed?gimmmick said:Blizzard really needs to replace the graphic's engine for WoW. 5 years should be enough.

Phasing is a technique that allows more than one version of the world to be present in a given place at a given time. For instance, one village in Northrend is inhabited by ghosts of the Valkyr. In the "normal" phase (the one you see when you first run through the village) you see present-day enemies doing normal enemy things: patrolling around, killing people, staring at the ground, etc. But when you start a certain quest and run into the village you seamlessly pass into a second "phase". Under these conditions all the normal enemies disappear (on your client) and you see memories from ancient Valkyr ghosts, which in this case tell a story. The Lamonster said:What is "phasing?"

P.S. I love you too Metzen.
mclem said:That was the most significant reason I doubted this, actually, for one very major reason: This is going to make Patch 4.0 (downloaded, don't forget) absolutely *gargantuan*. Hope you've got some of the broadest broadband ever!
Racials:
Two Forms, instant, 1.5 sec cooldown, Turn into your currently inactive form.
Darkflight, instant, 3 min cooldown, activates your true form increasing movement speed by 70% for 10 sec
Viciousness, passive, increases all damage done by 1%.
Flayer, passive, skinning skill increased by 15 and allows you to skin faster.
Worgen starting zone begins with your character chained up and Royal Chemist Krennan Aranas promising to help find you a cure. "I'm not giving up on you, <player>. I don't have a cure for the Curse yet... but there are treatments. You'll have control again."

Special surprises from level 1-5 so players will start at 6 today.
I disagree. I still think the game looks great, even on shitty computers thanks to the art style.gimmmick said:Blizzard really needs to replace the graphic's engine for WoW. 5 years should be enough.

Oh well everything else looks fantastic for Cataclysm! Can't wait.
Goblin mount looks awesome. It's some kind of car.
Zzoram said:China bans the use of Pandarens, that's why they will never show up in WoW.
It probably just changes the physical landscape, but I imagine much of the original story and quests will remain how they are.kilongs said:How are they going to work the current two expansions into this?
If the new Azeroth is permanent for 1-60, how do the story lines that take place in Outland and Northrend gonna make any sense, when I go 61-70 then 71-80?
