someone mind recapping the warlock shard change? I missed it.

* Soul Shards are no longer in your bags. The goal is to make them fun, not a hassle.
* Soul Shards will be integrated to the user interface. (Just like Death Knight runes)
* You get three shards per fight, they will regen very quickly out of combat.
* It will be possible to get more for long fights or mistakes through Drain Soul.
* Soul Burn (New Spell) : Cost 1 Shard, 30 sec cooldown, off the GCD. Empowers your next spell, many (not all spells) behave differently when empowered.
* Empowered Searing Pain : Next 3 Searing Pains crit
* Empowered Summon Demon : Instant Cast
* Empowered Soulfire : Instant Cast
* Empowered Fear : Instant Cast
* Empowered Death Coil : Longer Horror, more healing received.
* They are only used in combat, summons or demons won't use your shards.

You get 3 shards that show in your UI (like DK runes). They don't regen during combat, but replenish fast out of combat. You can use them in conjunction with other spells to buff them.

edit: nevermind :p

Only one spell for Warlocks will use Soul shards now. You get 3 per fight, they regenerate out of combat. Soul Burn can be used and it modifies spells, like if you soul burn/fear, you get an instant cast fear, if you soul burn/demon summon you get an instant demon, soul burn/searing pain the next 3 searing pains crit.

Basically it means you don't ever stock up on them or carry them around, they're just used to modify spells each fight.

Having taken in a day of Cataclysm stuff... I'm amazed.

This is World of Warcraft II. That is, it's what I expected the sequel to the game to be; a 'new old world', streamlining what didn't work and adding in what does, major redesigns of concepts, a full new levelling path. I never thought they'd have the balls to put all that in an expansion pack.

Costume contest, then what? Is it safe to go to bed? Diablo or something left?

It essentially could be considered World of Warcraft 2. It appears to have pretty much the same amount of content vanilla had when it launched, it's pretty fucking scary when you really consider just how much work they're doing for Cataclysm.

Well they're not adding any new talents this time, and only five levels instead of ten. But yeah, revamping the landscapes and questlines from 1-60 is a big undertaking.

Oh hey, someone made the "that hot girl character you've been talking to in-game is actually a guy in real life!".

Every. Fucking. Year.

I feel the same why. With the new Azeroth, I can see a lot of WoW players re-leveling. With the way leveling has changed over the years(fast and soloable), it'll be much less of a hassle for experience players as well.

I just wonder what will happen to Old Azeroth, mostly to the people who haven't upgraded to Cataclysm yet. Will all of Azeroth change for all subs? Or is it like all the other xpacs, where it's locked out for people who haven't upgraded?

And thanks for the Warlock info, seems like an interesting change.

Going to watch the SK arena match then switch off. Been all melee stuff so far, asn as I play a mage I'd like to see how they fare.

I already got changes to be had. =|

Worgens should be able to play Shamans. Shaman pop is low and I think it would help. They also make more sense as Shamas than dorfs do. Exchange Hunter for Shaman.

Skinning racial is useless. It's the easiest profession to level in the game. Any boost to it just overkill. Perhaps a PVP racial in replace of it. Ally would like a PVP race choice other than human.

There is no reason not to allow in faction race changes. Cross faction is just a trickier race change. I see not legitimate logic against it if you are allowing cross faction race change.

There needs to be a way to remove physical debuffs and dots. It is part of the reason for physical dominance over range in PvP.

Targeting system needs major improvement as well. No more missed spells cuz somebody jumped over your head.

I deleted my lvl 73 Druid (100 days played never got chance to play WOTLK really) because my guild moved servers and switched to Alliance. I didnt feel like leveling and playing anymore because of this and just deleted my druid which was there when WoW launched.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Yeah, just open up a game ticket and tell a GM you'd like your guy back. My friend cancelled WoW for a year and deleted his person. He didn't get any of his gear back because he deleted it seperatly but he did have a nice 60 again. Back before the expansions of course.

He did it twice and on the second time the GM said he had one more available, so I'm assuming you're allowed to get back 3 people.

They said in-faction race changes will be coming soon.

I believe they said the new 1-60 Azeroth will be available to all users, and once the event happens nobody will have access to the old world.

wut? In a lot of ways dwarves make even more sense then Draeni did.

Dungeons and Raids panel tomorrow should be interesting. Hopefully we'll get a preview of Icecrown (if you attentive, you can see something that looks like it flash by near the very beginning of the Cataclysm trailer) and some of the endgame raids for Cataclysm.

Edit: Random aside-

Has anyone seen any coverage of the art panel that went on today? I can't find shots of it anywhere and I was hoping to see some more Cataclysm concept work.

There's a lot of the art presented today.

Thanks much! Dunno if this is everything from the panels and elsewhere, but new art is good and I'm sure any missing pieces will show up in various places over the next few days.

Wonder if they will change how they sell the game at all...maybe make Cataclysm the new base game new users purchase.

Nope, because you still gotta go from 60-80 before you can level from 80-85.:lol

Doesn't matter, it would save money on Blizz's part/ Think about it. What on those original 5 discs' is even used anymore? The main part of all that data was the world which is literally non-existent anymore. They said that everyone, with the expansion or not, will level in the new azeroth and the old one will be gone forever. So why even bother shipping the original game? Just ship it as Cataclysm and then state that to access the 80-85 features of the game, 2 expansions are needed.

Or atleast re-print the original game with all the new data instead of the old stuff. Would save oodles of time patching up.

Funny, I was thinking just the opposite.

Dude doesn't know when to stop talking and just get on with it.

With all this revamping of old content it seems logical to take the next step and update the player models. It's the only thing missing now. We got updated mobs, environments, water effects, the old player models are gonna stand out.

Do it Blizzard!

Was it known that StarCraft 2 was going to ship with Tower Defense and DoTA? No one seems to be surprised! First I've heard of it.

Maybe drop the core game entirely and just sell BC, Wrath, and Cataclysm and give the 1 month free to new accounts instead of tied to the vanilla key.

Wha? Did they say that? I remember them going over custom map support, but I don't remember the specifics.

Wow, World of Warcraft 2 is here. This is why Blizzard makes "billions" a year... they are so fucking insane yet so awesome.

If this is truly WoW2, then Blizz has done what no mmo company has been able to do- introduce a sequel without making it seem like a sequel. Fuck, the people at Blizzard are fucking ballsy.

I do enjoy how people that were deemed unattractive got literally no applause at all when they came out.

...as if they didn't already have low self-esteem :lol

I dunno, some of the fat girls got applause, the only real ones that got no applause were the ones who put in no effort. Like the dude who just painted himself blue and wore white pants.
