I see a few folks talking about how easy the bosses are, yet there are dozens of folks struggling with numerous early bosses.

I am a Souls vet and am struggling. Did Cleric Beast in 1 shot, but I think it was luck. Father Gasciogne took way more attempts than I am willing to admit. Everyone says bosses immediately after are more difficult.

As of now, I find Bloodborne way harder than any other Souls game I have played. Maybe that changes later, but the difficulty is there.
Early bosses are more difficult than some of the mid-later bosses.

Cleared the sixth boss, tried a bit of
Byrgenwerth
, calling it for the night. Man, the second half of the previous area, the
Forest
, takes ages and ages to clear if you want all the items and is kind of a slog. The first half is cool, though.

I find myself agreeing with what another person wrote: the general strategy to most bosses in Bloodborne is not to hug them and strafe like in Dark Souls 1/2. You have to sidestep charging attacks and stay in front, jump back, then dash in while their attack is winding down to hit them once or twice.

That’s why the bosses have been feeling harder than, say, everything in Dark Souls 2, by a long shot. Takes more reflexes and patience.

We’re at the same part and I agree. While I didn’t die throughout the
snake-infested forest
, it was nerve-wracking since there were no shortcuts back to the Lantern that I could see. Legitimately felt lost a few times, so that was neat.
Glad the boss was not difficult.

Holy shit man. This damn game.

I played it as soon as I got home yesterday. I was a little frustrated not having a shield, but I adapted pretty quickly. This game is soooo good. I died like 4 times at FG and couldn't wait until I could try him again and again.

I will always and forever support From Software.

Which sucks because the actual gameplay of PVP is great.

Unless some sort of hunter's arena dlc hits with whatever is down the line?

At any rate, i'm looking forward to more Chalice Dungeon experiences. I havent seen too many posts about them. Are they really randomized in design or what?

Also has anyone had to use jump to get anywhere?

Vicar Amelia's flowing long fur reminds me of the Nine-Tailed Fox and the Crimson King demon hair from Otogi 2. So awesome, seems the Otogi artists are still with From.

The parry window must be tighter than I think or just buggy. Even after getting the shot off correctly, sometimes R1 does a normal swing.

Hey guys, any good farming spots for Echoes (or Shards) earlyish game? I've beat the first three bosses, have access to the fourth, and can also go to the first Lamp on the second Headstone. I want to upgrade some weapons.

Help people with bosses in coop for lots of souls. For weapon upgrades, level one shards drop regularly
off the dogs in the fifth area, which you can access just outside and to the left of the 4th cathedral boss
. For level two shards you'll want to just keep progressing and finding hidden glowies.

Asked yesterday and nobody replied, now that more people have finished or are further on, that
giant disgusting spider latched to a tower
from the trailers / images, is that a boss?

you do end up fighting one of them. There are a lot.

The trick is to not spam the R1 after parrying. I think there's like maybe a one-second window after the enemie drops that you can walk up and do a R1 to riposte.

You have to get closer to the enemy. Even with my shotgun which I parry near point blank I have to have my body touch them then press R1 for the visceral attack.

So, the game says I have 99 QS bullets in storage, but they don't refill when I die, and when I access my storage box they don't appear on the list at all. Has this glitch happened to anyone else? Or is it just something I'm missing?

From what I can tell, it's unlocked by
telling the lady you find in Yar'Ghoul to go to the church. It's the door that's locked there, across from the old lady.

I found an old lady
in Yharnam by a bunch of dogs in cages, she's here now. Same lady or a different, if different where?

The first few bosses are brutal, after that everything has been toned down a bit from what I can tell, but I did find a
lightning beast (can't remember the real name and I'm staying away from wikis until I finish the game)
boss that shit all over me, but I don't think it was an area I was supposed to be in at the time since going back now I can mow down the trash mobs that were giving me hell the first time I went in. Once I figured out
gun parrying
and have some better gear, it feels much easier, but I've been farming a bit to make sure my gear is in tip-top shape. I probably shouldn't have gotten
Ludwig's Holy Sword
, it feels like it's a little bit strong compared to my Saw Cleaver that's at the same level.

What kind of build did you use in the Souls games? I was always a light-armored melee/DEX user, and along with the faster dodging, I feel like I have a lot more hitting power here than I ever did in those games.

Card carrying 100% Shield blocking. Always tank-and-spank stamina builds. This game is throwing me a curve ball.

Early bosses are more difficult than some of the mid-later bosses.

I guess that is something.

Be sure to check out the digital manual. It taught me some things I didn't know, like the stump messenger, and the fact that if you L2 with a transformed two-handed weapon, you do a unique attack with that weapon.

Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Major Spoilers
NIGHTMARE slain? YOOOOOOO that shit was awesome. Also, we collecting umbilical cords now.

It might be because you're playing it too much like Demon/Dark Souls/2? I thought the first boss was the toughest in the game but it was because I was trying to adjust to how different the game moves and plays. Once I kinda *got* it, every boss fight became a matter of watching its patterns and then dashing in and capitalizing when I could and then backing out before they were ready to do another attack.

Father Gasc I think is probably a really difficult fight that I cheesed by just staying on the other side of a patch of grave stones and then just whipping him through them. I think honestly you'll have an easier time going forward.

Forbidden Forest
, why are you SO BIG! Get to one big area, clear it and discover four branching paths, all leading to their own big areas. Rince and repeat I don't know how many times.

Talking about the final boss, so I'm just going to spoiler tag all of this.

The final boss fight is a pretty nice fight! It's just got such a nice presentation to it. Fighting at the Hunter's Dream in the field of flowers, and the music is pretty nice too! It's also cool how they have the boss switch between his 2-hand and 1-hand versions of the scythe. It is kind of annoying, though, how they make it so you can't stagger him later in the fight. Makes it kind of difficult to work around him with a slower weapon.

So this is what happened....

So the hunter on the gatling gun when you go to old yharnam, he killed me the first time i went up the ladder so i was a little cheeky the second time and went up, triggered him and then climbed back down the ladder and who should decide he would come looking for me? yep the gatling hunter walked right off the edge and gave me his item

love random moments in souls games.

For someone that loves the hunter axe and wants to love kirkhammer
:(
, and that in dark souls 1/2 rolled around with greatswords, what other weapons can I expect to enjoy in Bloodborne? I've only done the first boss and i give zero fucks about spoilers

Need help with the thirdish boss that
is poisonous and runs on hands and legs and is super quick

Any takers? I have my bell going outside the door. CelticKennedy on PSN.

jesus christ, my head feels like it's 500 ton. guess I'm out to study for another 8 hours until I come back .__________.

Ludwig's Holy Blade if you want a greatsword. Its a quality weapon.

I'm at the point where I think I either have to fight
Blood-Starved Beast
or
Vicar Amelia
. I tried fighting
Vicar Ameila
a few times but my ass just gets kicked. Maybe it's time I actually call in for help with that fight despite solo'ing the others so far.

If you're used to action games where you would be dodging, etc shouldn't be an issue in this, right?
Different mechanics than other actual action games. Other actions games don't deplete stamina from using dodge or attacks. Also other games have the ability to cancel attacks into dodge, not here. Plus you can get stun locked by multiple enemies (though not nearly as bad as previous Souls games). Also other action games have vertical options for dodging as well.

So even if you are used to dodging in other action games, it won't be a walk in the park. In most other action games the player character is much faster than anything else in the game... in this game some of the enemies match your speeds.

Ludwig’s Holy Blade. You can keep the Axe as a kind of training wheel, but eventually, the longsword/greatsword will become borderline OP, at least it has for me, and I love it. Staggers and stunlocks every kind of enemy when it’s in its two-handed mode.

You need to find a badge that only becomes available after killing the BSB, or the third boss. Guides are out there on the net I’m sure.
