Don't worry we all started there. I spent a long time in 1-1 in Demons Souls as well. Unfortunately its going to be a bit harder for you to find help since you are one of the first to have the game. What exactly is the problem? Are you lost? Why do you keep dying?

I'm pretty sure he was over levelled as well.
 
Looks like other than the loading it runs quite smoothly...

I'm getting flashbacks to watching Demon's Souls streams while waiting for my import copy to arrive. Hnngg
 
Also, just confirmed that enemies don't follow you forever.

Man, the regular enemies lines are so good, can't wait to explore the lore.
 
I'm playing and asking questions as they as they come up

- with my soul or exp points that I loose, what should I do with them? I manage to find a path that leads back to a lantern and then of course I can warp back to the main hub with the points. Can I bank them somewhere? what should I do? if I go back all the enemies reset in the game world.
 
Demons Souls was my Epic PS3 game, Dark Souls was amazing in the fact that it had such a huge community here on GAF when it came out.

Bloodborne, is honestly freaking fantastic. The fact that this is out in a week. I cannot take it anymore. I need this now.

Welcome to the Souls series. That's how it works dude. Sometimes you have to just go spend your souls before venturing on, even if that means resetting the world.

Yeah, they're most likely shortcuts. The world is designed that way.

Try finding a blond girl. If you talk to her you should be able to level up your character using those points. When levelling, stats that are always a good idea to invest in are HP and Stamina.

You should make a habit of just spending those blood echoes on levelling up your stats in the early going. Don't bank them unless you have something in mind you're saving them for.

Why aren't you making progress? Is there a specific area/enemies/group of enemies that keeps killing you? Try to vary your tactics, or even avoid problem areas altogether if possible.
 
ok so essentially I should be doing this

- small adventures followed by either backtracking to cash in points, or continuing to a point where I can unlock a way back? then go spend the points and do to all again until I'm a higher level/better gear?

I should not be playing it like a point a-b adventure game?

btw this game is remarkable. I'm punishing myself but its so so so good.
