BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

No one quite knows but I think that's a safe assumption. Going by pre-release screenshots, we've seen the following environments: forests, the main city and a snowy area.

Personally, those three alone are enough variety on par with the previous games.

Edits: Whoops, double post instead of editing on to the previous one.

Ambiance is often overlooked is games IMO. Even if a game doesn't send you across the globe from forests to beaches, great ambiance can really draw you in. I'd rather have a game that keeps me in one city but just oozes details and sound, changing each time I walk down a new street or enter a mysterious alley over a boring ass jungle with the same 5 trees or a mountain with snow and maybe a goat put in the backdrop.

Bloodborne is pretty slick as well, but I was expecting some pretty diverse settings given the hardware.
why are you implying that one random guy from reddit who probably slept 3 hours each day in order to finish this game as fast as possible is to be completely trusted, or trusted at all?
"I couldn't find any desert with sharks or city inside a flying volcano, 3/10 lack of variety - IGN"

I'm not saying that this game can't suffer from lack of variety because Miyazaki-da-god, just saying that before being disappointed I would, at least, wait for some other impressions.

More info on the framerate:

"Just an update about framerate drops. They were seriously non issues, more like farts that I only really noticed in huge areas when I was expecting them to happen. I have been happy with the framerate the entire time. No blighttowns here at all. I merely mentioned it because I know a lot of people worry about it."

YES!

I think it going to have variety but it also going to be thematically constant .
So you going to have your forests , builds , rivers etc etc but it also going to be dark and oppressive in all areas.

I thought some other player confirmed it was in but the NPC said he wasn't honorable enough or something.

It's in this thread towards the beginning.

Yeah thank fuck I just seen that right after but was trying to fucking edit my post on this fucking ipad using an ipad is such a chore... Even if it's hard to get it glad it's in...

Birth of a new gaming term: framefarts

on an unpatched game no less. We should burn our copies before even putting the disc in the console.
:D

I won't be able to burn it, I pre-ordered the digital version.
:D

That's good to know. Blighttown was horrible.

That's a good point.

Well, that's pretty much perfect then. That was the worst part of DkS.

All this talk about the (shown weapons)
greatsword and scythe
is funny. Glad to see no one has spoiled my favorite weapon :P

Oh boy people will be happy is all I can say. I'll give it another day or two before the word gets out though.

Are you a reviewer or did you get the game early?

Are there more weapons than those listed on fextralife?

Persona 5 is looking mighty fine, as is DQ: Heroes.

Bloodborne is pretty slick as well, but I was expecting some pretty diverse settings given the hardware.

If you are hyped for DQ heroes and are upset about Bloodbornes supposed "lack of variety" boy do I have some news for you.

Something I havent seen people really mention are NPCs. Like the ones you find scattered around the world. Not the people locked up in their houses.

Are there still a lot of these types of characters with continuing storylines?

And that without the d1 patch

I want to know if the ones in houses have quests for you. Mostly due to one lady asking you if you knew of a safe haven in the IGN video.

He said 15-20 bosses, but that may mean there are some he missed right? Didn't dark souls have like 26?

i think there are assuredly more than that. The series is known for some obscure/hard to find bosses. Like painted world wasn't immediately obvious. I never even knew about lady gwyn even though i had beaten the game like 3 times.

Even though I know it's the longest of longshots I keep holding out hope that somewhere there is a katana trick weapon you can use in this. I would be sad to give up my ol' faithful since Demon's, but I understand that it's not likely.

Was kind of concerned about the environment variety. The previous Souls all had vastly different environments from one zone to the next.

Hopefully it's not too much of the same ol same ol in bloodborne.
