BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

I have both. Pistol fires much faster than the Blunderbuss but they both are still hard for me to counter with. The enemy has to be like right in your face and just about to land a blow on you.

Don't think you can. Far as I can tell, the only option is to counter with the gun and then you have a small window to land a backstab type of animation for huge damage + lots o' blood everywhere.
that's the riposte animation, which should be even more damage than backstab. you can backstab, some people did it on their streams, I just don't know how you exactly do that.

edit: oh charge attack from behind, I see.

They really need to get a patch out for load times. Getting really far and then dying has that load screen really drag out of the action.

HOLY FUCK. The weirdest thing just happened to me. Don't know if anyone streaming had the same.

Post second boss area. It's a pretty hilarious suprise so if you don't want it spoiled don't click, but most of you bastards are watching the whole game on stream anyway!
Picked up a set of gear (top haaaat) from the floor and then a blue vortex started phasing in and out of existence around it. I get close to it and I get grabbed by some sort of shadow hand that pulls me into the sky and I get devoured by an invisible shadow monster. Like what the fuck! I just started cracking up cause I was no expecting that at all.

Oooooh charge attack? I never do charge attacks because I prefer the get in, put some hits in, get out play style. I gotta try that out.

I had a Bloodborne nightmare last night... and I've not even played the game. Hype!

I had a hunter's axe (polearm form) and was in an open area. Enemies (3 dark cloaked figures) with scythes were chasing me. I dispatched them with little difficulty. Then I saw a woman (also in dark clothing) walking away from me ringing a bell. I entered a building and walked down a hallway, ducking into a side room to search a cabinet (don't know why). I hear a bell ring, and walk back into the hall. Suddenly, I see a gigantic mace/hammer thing smash through the building's entryway (at a 90 degree angle to the hall, so I couldn't see what was holding it). I turn to run and see a wall. I turn to the room I was just in and see the door is closed. I panic and wake up in sweaty sheets.

I'm in trouble... what happens when I actually play the game?

This games pretty sick, but the first bosses are really easy. Cleric you just stay on him and dodge towards the hand he attacks with, and father can be countered into ez mode.

Loving it so far though.

Yep saw a stream where it happened.
But he stepped away before the vortex fully formed. Have no idea what the heck that is.

So I'm going through the city and unlock my first major shortcut, thinking "these enemies are easy so far". Run into one of those fat executioner dudes and get downed in two hits. Welp.

Oo thats cray

My only worries coming from dark souls is that i was very particularly in going very carefully with my shield up... this is a whole more fast paced

It may be a hard change in mind-set for Souls players but for anyone new to the whole idea, the faster action might actually sit better with them.

is the platforming as bad as the Souls games?

About on par, I'd say. There are still plenty of optional items that require you to roll off a ledge onto a wooden beam, etc. I haven't run across much that requires jumping at this point though, thankfully. Also, most of the 'platforming' seems optional so far.

Nice shield
