BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

Do you know if there is any other type of
paper that can add effects, I remember Mobius using something that made his blade ghostly

Also how rare are
throwing knives?
They scale with skill and I might want to use them if they can also parry like bullets

Yeah that's the arcane variant. No idea if the can parry with the second, but i know you can purchase them.

As someone who just got their first challace....should I use It already and enter the dungeon? I was going to do all of them end game.

Do they scale to current level?
As someone who has done zero reading on them what should I know? kno please keep it semi spoiler free.

Chalices have dept number on them. The bigger the dept the more difficult.

Do it now, it seems to be as much a compliment to the main game throughout as it is an endgame thing.

Do it now. Mobius was killing most early chalice bosses in a matter of hits in endgame.

Thanks for the answers. The dungeons seems like a good thing to add.

One other thing. Are there rings in the game? I dont think I have seen one yet and it seems weird not to include them in the game

Compliment? In what sense?

There are unique items and bosses in the chalice dungeons, and it's said that they are the best way to farm for things if you want/need to do so. Plus, the early chalice dungeons are fairly easy and would not be all that fun once you're a high level.

Reminds me of Nyzul Isle from FFXI. It had 100 total floors, and the deeper you got the harder it got. Another similar mechanic is Diablo III's Nephelem Rifts.

Though, I feel like Bloodborne's implementation is far better in terms of variety/replayability.

The arcane variant doesn't get consumed correct? And that is great to now you can buy them even though I plan to go for a skill/bloodtinge build unless a more interesting weapon is shown to make me change my mind

Something like that but not 1:1.

All Chalice dungeons have 3 floors. The difficulty of the set will be determined by the depth number.

I'm strongly, STRONGLY considering getting this, which is ridiculous because I didn't beat DS1 or 2 and didn't even like them all that much.

Someone slap me and tell me to come to my senses.

Jesus christ, why are Twitch servers so bad? They buffer every 30 seconds. Meanwhile hitbox streams never hang despite being way higher quality

So do we have an idea of how many bosses are in the game? I keep hearing about the same
4
plus one
end boss that's allegedly easy to cheese.

Also, do the areas ever get more varied? All the footage I've seen, the game world looks like it's very same-y. I'm wondering if we're looking at a much smaller landmass compared to Dark Souls or just one that's really not all that different across the scope.

Can anyone tell me what boss, wingman was stuck on in the dungeon or how it looked like?I would have loved to see that.

First was a
giant Cthulu-looking monster with tentacles and a nasty charge attack. Oh, and lasers. Lots of lasers
. Second was
basically just a human with a katana and pyromancy, but the chalice dungeon he was in cut his HP in half
.

http://www.twitch.tv/vw_luke Streaming only two bosses in if anyone wants to watch some early stuff

Wow, I can't believe people say this game doesn't look good. It looks utterly fantastic to me, the detail and art is off the walls.

I love the smoke and fog effects, it seems like sometimes there is a slight volumetric effect to it as well. There's a really incredible looking lighting and particle system at play with a pretty great destruction system(look at the fight with
Father/Priest Gascoigne, when he turns beast he goes nuts and destroys pretty much everything in his path and it looks really impressive. Or when his swipes hit the metal railings and they bend and break off.
with much of the environment and with many of the objects.

That said the fucking art design in this is amazing, I can't wait to see the art book tomorrow night.

Don't do it! If you've tried the series and didn't like it then you're probably just gonna be wasting money.

i'm thinking it's a launch-day embargo. one of the gaffer reviewers said his sony rep told him it was on the 24th. means shit all to me, though.

Is there any way to tell after? Can u keep using a broken weapon?

You can, the weapon will do significantly less damage though (at least it was significant in previous games).

Edit: Also, you can look at the weapon and there should be a number for how much durability is left in the inventory/equip screen.

Yeah my durability is at 0. I think I need to restart this game, I'm fucked.

Have been reading through some of this thread which surprisingly feels fairly spoiler light, and I've watched a few minutes of different streams and I'm hyped for this.

My history is that I've avoided these games for years, put off by the difficulty and the fact they're 100% action oriented games, but I recently tried out Demon's Souls for a grand total of 4 hours and I can see the appeal, the true sense of achievement as you learn more and level up some. I couldn't get into DeS though just because it's PS3 graphics and Bloodborne was so close to release. I'm saving my investment of time for this game.

It truly does look glorious. So atmospheric, detailed and beautiful. Definitely has more character and feels a lot busier visually than Demon's Souls did. DeS felt a bit barren from my short time with it. I love the lighting and texture of Bloodborne and that is something I really need before I can invest my time in something as brutally punishing as I know this game is going to be for me.

The ONLY gripe I have watching streams seems to be the incredibly twitchy camera movement. Doesn't seem to have any smoothing or inertia to it, just feels very sharp, almost like mouse controlled camera in PC games does. It's a tiny gripe but hey, gotta have something. Cannot wait to get this. I sold my copy of The Order on Amazon for more than I expected to get via trade in etc and I think I'm goiing to take the leap and just buy Bloodborne digitally (will save myself a few £'s buying from the US store though as I've done with GTA5 and TLOU before).

CANNOT WAIT!
