Yes. Spend them before you get too many. You might end up needing to backtrack right before you enter rooms with bosses, and that's ok. Just make sure you don't carry around more souls than you care to lose before venturing forth. Be cautious, but also remember that blood farming for a few levels' worth, at least in the early game, doesn't take too long.
You get to repair your weapon?
Ahh, you haven't even met the first boss? You might want to watch some streams to get strategies or try to rush to the boss. After that you can face-smash trash mobs and increase your endurance, but honestly the best strategy would be to learn the encounters/enemies.

It was the same for DeS as well. It does suck, I feel your pain!
Edit: For the first boss, there's a shortcut that makes it easy to run straight to the boss without having to fight anyone so you don't need to worry about losing souls. Just focus on making sure you have enough items in your inventory (blood vials, bullets, etc).
To be honest, the timing of the tweet I think was intentionally used to rile up people. He may not be the reviewer, but he sure does like to stir the pot as much as possible lol.
No big deal. Since that system is in place it's assumed that you'll be losing those Blood Echoes at least once. Losing Blood Echoes on the first area won't put you behind for the rest of the game. When you beat the boss you'll be given plenty to level up with.

Its not going to be a lot of souls anyway, no? I have lost upwards of 100k souls being careless. Its not the end of the world.
New to Souls I take it? Take your time, you'll be ok and get into the swing of things.

You can if it kills you the first time. That death will unlock leveling.
Man, how brutal would it be if you literally couldn't level up until defeating the boss?

Believe it's a mix of both, with variations in movesets too.
It looks insanely hard. I am looking into Coop for the later levels of the chalice dungeons.
New bosses, re-used bosses, and a fusion of re-used bosses.
Re-used bosses have new moves though.
To be fair, Phallanx is pretty passive bos. Even moreso when compared to Cleric Beast.

I read that the first 2 floors are bosses from the main game but with additional attacks and made to be more fresh and screw with you. The 3rd floor has a unique boss exclusive to the dungeons.

This is my first souls game too, got it early. Been playing since yday and man I love it. But I either suck soo soo bad lol, or this game is hard as FUCK. Probably a bit of both, but more of the I suck part. Lol
The game really rewards you for playing smart with your weapon/item choice. Identifying weaknesses instead of trying to brute force one tool all the way through (though that is possible).

Cainhurst badge is what you need. There is a certain item you pickup I believe in
Cainhurst (some kind of burnt letter, don't remember the name exactly). You need to give Alfred this letter, which will lead him to Cainhurst. You talk to him there, and he gives you the badge.
Either that or join the
Vilebloods, and get the badge.
I did both of these pretty closely together, so it should be one of these two options. Memory is hazy.
