BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

I'll try these questions out one more time

1. Not that i know of.

2. Time of day changes as you progress through the game, it changes at set points.

3. As far as i can tell she just leaves if you give her the brooch. There seems to be 3 outcomes from this NPC, send church, send sickroom, give brooch.

4. Go to the sickroom lamp (very first lamp) and turn around and go up the stairs and talk to the door the get another drop off point.

5. This will make more sense when the time of day reaches its last cycle, return here and look up :).

6. Unknown but it likely to be harcapped at 50 for most stats.

This is great, thanks. So I guess you can't make a viable gun/bloodtinge build?

Who knows at this point, but with the low ammo amount I doubt it. You can get runes to raise your max ammo and make it so you regain some when you do visceral attacks though so who knows.

You can, he was just displaying examples of some quick easy build templates.

Bloodtinge build is viable, especially with certain weapons. Arcane is a little more out there, will be interesting to see how viable Arcane build will be eventually.

Followed some advice in this thread and created a US psn account. Pre ordered BB and now I am as giddy as a school girl that I can play it tomorrow morning. I'm far too impatient to wait until the UK release on Friday. Looking forward to the OT now

So what's the difference between skill and strength? Would like to know? Strength is heavy weapons I assume?

I am that guy

I knew the game would be "good" due to the hype and the history the developer has. I have never played a previous title due to lack of interest in the premise but I promised myself I would give this a try- the atmosphere and art style were too good for me not too.

I did zero reading and very little video watching on the game but was hyped as all hell...(thanks gaf). I was lucky enough to get the game on the 13th of this month and have been playing it quite a bit. Currently level 42 with 16 or so hours played.

Initially I was confused, frustrated and the thought that "this may not be for me" crossed my mind early on. Now I am hooked, and think about the game constantly and have been reading about it non stop. It is REALLY good and I encourage everyone to try it. But remember, when your thinking about giving up your right on the cusp if the game being great, give it time.

Fuck yes, welcome to the cult! :-)

It almost feels as if I'm playing the game myself

Some weapons scale better with Skill when you fortify them, some others with Strength, etc...eg: a weapon with Strength C and Skill D is going to have a higher damage output if you level up Strength than it would if you level up Skill.
AFAIK, these "compatibilities" vary depending on that same weapon level.

The current chalice dungeon I'm doing is pretty tough, my +6 Ludwig is taking 3 two-handed swings for the trashiest of mobs. Might have to share this one when I'm done.
Problem is, spending all this time in chalice dungeons (4 in a row now) has completely depleted my stock of blood vials and bullets. Back to Yarhnam I go!

For 4, I have seen someone send a younger lady back as well. I assume that it depends on the time of night you try to talk to the people, or something like that, as to if people will ask you if there is a safe place. Refer to this for your question numbered 6.

Since several weapons scale with Arcane, is it worth it to keep it at a minimum? Or is the scaling not nearly as good as Str/Skill?

Wow, what Depth was that dungeon?

That's the day1 patch I believe....

It is.

Cable management bruh. ikea stat.
My man, I just went with a complete apartment rehaul in less than 7 days :/ Give me a break :lol

edit: that's just an extra long Ethernet cable that I found in the basement. It's not even going to be there once I decide to buy a shorter one!

That Brazilian site has a lot of the bosses on Youtube. Does anyone have a compilation of bosses that people may not have seen? I love watching boss fights.

Do you get anything special from doing chalice dungeons? Do they have special items or materials?

It is a mystery. Think the reason why someone would keep it low in theorycrafting is because the highest requirement on an item for it is 10. Some people have claimed it effects drop rate, and also fire damage, but don't think anyone knows for sure yet. It looks like literally every main hand weapon scales with it, even if it is Ds across the board at the weapons base level. In the long run I wouldn't doubt on it being a very good secondary damage pump stat, but it is too early to tell on that. It could just as easily be garbage.

I dont understand how anyone could possibly think that.

I can vaguely see a comparison to DMC being made, but how could anyone come to the conclusion above.

Is there any negatives if you play co op? I never looked into it that much..

can you co op any time? or only boss fights?
do you not gain as many echos? or items? possible not gain a trophy for soloing it?

It's the same patch we've had for days, no? File size is the same.
The website states that there will be an update at midnight, but i have a feeling it's referring to the one we already have.

Only depth 3 apparently! I guess my level when starting it altered the enemies stats? I'm not sure how it works.

So far it's mostly ritual materials to create more and harder dungeons, but I did get access to an awesome looking set of armor by defeating a boss that was wearing it.

How much is it in £ to buy the US version?

You're honestly taking tweets at face value. What's next, expert analysis gained from youtube comments? Every exclusive game will receive flak from people who don't own the platform it's for.

Is there anywhere I can look up to see which weapons scale with Str and which with skill? I dont want any boss or level spoilers. Just want to know the weapon list.

i don't think there are any negatives to cooping. you have to summon another player with the beckoning bell. if you want to summon one of your friends you can pass-protect it with a watchword. coop ends when you defeat a boss or when one of you dies.

that list is not exhaustive.

A bit off topic but the OT isn't up yet and am curious. If you begin playing offline ( not patient enough for patch to download ) can you change back to online once it has downloaded and you're ready to invade/be invaded!!!

Is FROM offering a standalone soundtrack download? Kind of disappointed that some of the boss music has pretty much been variations on the Cleric Beast theme. Then again, I've only fought 4 bosses, so maybe I just haven't heard much yet?
