You can feed it examples and then parameters to have it follow to then create unique (to a point) items after that. You can go from an art department of 10 to like 3 with AI. I see it happening already. Can also just outsource to freelance artists for cheap as well.

I loved Xbox so much, the first years of 360 were amazing, I loved almost everything they did back then.
Kinect was the beginning of the end.
At this point in time, the first cracks appeared.
Xbox one stupid PR and overconfidence destroyed everything they built before.
Still some excellent games but on weak AF console.
One X was an excellent piece of hardware but way too late.
Then so many dumbs decisions: series S, mismanagement of existing studios, buying activision and Bethesda.
And now they are just a (big) publisher, no reason to buy an Xbox except for gamepass…
Lay off after lay off because of all their mistakes and mismanagement, it's so fucking sad

I wonder how long Microsoft higher ups will give game-pass to get to Netflix level profitability. I'm sure there's a universe where it could happen, but I suspect the quality of gamepass games will begin to trend down as developers realize it'll cannibalize the lifetime value of their products. And without getting enough of the market to easily dictate to 3rd party developers "how much a game ought cost" I'm guessing Xbox leadership lands in a rock and a hard place of not having the resources needed to continue growing subs vs. showing the higher ups they can indeed make money @ the scale Microsoft expects.
But even corporations aren't immune to the sunk cost fallacy. I suspect game pass exists for at least 5 more years before we hear any murmurs about it being scaled back.
Note: I'm not arguing cloud gaming will go away, just the current one size fits all subscription from Microsoft.

I suspect that time has already come and gone, that's why they started with "just four games" going multiplatform and now they're opening the floodgates to damn near everything going multiplatform. The execs beyond the Xbox division have almost certainly realized Game Pass has hit a wall and if they want to see a real return on investment from the $80Bn in acquisitions, they have to go where the paying players are.

This literally happens every time. Microsoft leaks these news to the same 2-3 people who do their job for them - softening the blow.
Imagine if, out of nowhere, Phil Spencer announced that their XGS games were coming to PS or that Microsoft is laying up to 20% of Xbox workforce, there would be so much concentrated news in a small period of time.
Microsoft does not want that, and these minions "leak" the news and thin out the negativity.
