The media these days want to to believe so.Are female brutes even a thing?
Congrats, you're the only person who doesn't get that Bond is supposed to be a misogynist.Sorry I meant, how many times per week do you shout misogyny?
Huh, I didn't know that Craig was 38 when Casino released (although Cavill will be more like 41 or even 42 when the next one releases, as they aren't anywhere near ready to start filming). I still think that Cavill is older and more famous than what they want, though. He's the same age Craig was when he started. And if they stick to the "every two years" tradition instead of taking such long breaks like they did with Craig, he probably wouldn't be 53 when they end his run.
But Bond ISN'T a misogynist. He LOVES women, perhaps a bit too muchCongrats, you're the only person who doesn't get that Bond is supposed to be a misogynist.
Um, no, but have a nice day. I'm checking out of the thread now.But Bond ISN'T a misogynist. He LOVES women, perhaps a bit too much
Bond was derived from the 40's and 50's experiences of Fleming. There would have been precious few female commandos or spies back then. There are STILL precious few even now. So a lack of lady 00s or archvillians really shouldn't stump anyone.
But Fleming wrote competent women whose only flaw as falling for Bond. Just like a major flaw of Bond, and one that gets exploited over and over, is him falling for a woman he shouldn't. Thats character, not misogyny, unless you think that men and women should be sexless beings who only procreate through a hole in a sheet.
Bond lives in the moment. He knows he could be dead 15 minutes from now. That quality, paired with his training, ruthlessness and love of country, makes him a good spy/assassin and very appealing to the women he runs across in his line of work. This stuff shouldn't be mysterious or incomprehensible to anyone, provided you go out and do some dangerous work every now and then.
That he, nor (m)any of the women he meets are happily married is a bit of a troupe of the genre and is present across the entire thriller genre.
Why? Having earlier "Bond-like" roles is a good audition for Bond and helps sell it to the audience. Been that way for Moore, Brosnan, and Craig. Don't recall if Lazenby had much before and Dalton didn't either and those were the two "least" successful bonds. I'd say Cavell, Hiddleston, and Rob Stark have the best "preview" roles to be able to walk on set and hold their own.I hope they cast an unknown as Bond. I don't want someone who's already basically played a generic version of Bond like Cavill or Elba.

They tried. Nobody cared, no matter how hot Blake Lively is.Why not just make another new copy franchise
Because that shit would bomb hard and they know it.Why not just make another new copy franchise
the reason Craig got the role over Cavill was because the latter was too young and not fit enough at the timeI thought Cavill was great in Man from UNCLE and MI Fallout, but he's 38 and I'd be surprised if they want to go that old. I mean, if he's 38 now he might be 41 by the time they start shooting his first movie, and just ask Daniel Craig how tough they are on the body.
I think they'll go for a relative unknown.

Im tired of the MCU threads announcing drivel about nothing. Can we get rid of them both?I'm so fucking tired of this shit.
The. I guess we just stop talking this then .Because the Broccolis said they won't do a spinoff. It's JUST Bond. Forever and always!
