They call it a soft reboot. I'm hopeful all the cringe, ruined original series characters aren't making a return. Please, no more Claptrap, Girlboss Lillith, Ellie, and especially no Tiny Tina. And stop with the preachy left-wing-driven propaganda.I like this guy. I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about this game.
I sure hope so. Either that shit is gone or they're doing a good job of hiding it in the trailers so far. They call it a soft reboot. BL1 didn't shy away from making fun of everyone and everything and wasn't particularly beholden to progressive humor. They had a whole section poking fun at prison homosexuality. Another good one was the bandits spray painting obscene messages about Moxxie, including one saying, "Moxxie likes it skaggystyle". Bring back that type of humor, not the cringe millennial/zoomer trash from BL3.
there is a hope of Ava not making into the game ? Also can they bring Scooter back ?They call it a soft reboot. I'm hopeful all the cringe, ruined original series characters aren't making a return. I think Scooter gone for good. A peace offering is just make Ava a farmable boss just like they did Aurelia.there is a hope of Ava not making into the game ? Also can they bring Scooter back ?
They fucking killed Scooter? What's with those dumbass "writers" killing off beloved characters for cheap emotional reactions? They did the same shit in God of War when they killed Brok, the funniest character everyone liked, so they sacrificed him to have an emotional impact.I think Scooter gone for good. I highly recommend viewing this, especially youI'm almost certain they're definitely hiding the cringe humor, but I'll be happy as long as the gameplay loop is as fun as BL2 was for me.
I don't gaf about having to reload to do boss runs, just go back to that and make the runs really fun and varied. This whole focus on trying to make it so you don't have to do that barely ever works, Adventure Mode in D3 was good imo.
Put in skill-based shortcuts that lower the run time and its fun af, like that geyser in BL2 that would launch you up to the boss that had Infinity in its drop table, getting perfect consecutive runs on that boss was so bloody satisfying for me.
Other runs were annoying af, I never bothered to get Volcano in BL2 for example, but thats what could be improved in the runs, make them have multiple paths, shortcuts or just more varied spawns and its fun to run them over and over.
I get the thinking that having a bunch of random events that you can run all day is better than reloading the world but it never works ime, its just too random.
I prefer structure in my games, I want order and predictable repeatability. That's a hallmark of every game I love and hold the gameplay of up there, MGS V and Hitman 2016 are prime examples: They are amazing games because of the world/checkpoint timers and predictable AI behavior.
Obviously you need some suprise, but absolutely fuck large scale unpredictability in games.
They killed Scoots, Maya, Aurelia(character assassination) and BL3 IMO was a massive L. With tons of Zoomer cringe humor. They fucking killed Scooter? What's with those dumbass "writers" killing off beloved characters for cheap emotional reactions? They did the same shit in God of War when they killed Brok, the funniest character everyone liked, so they sacrificed him to have an emotional impact.
They could have just killed Atreus or Ava, but they knew no one would have shed a tear for those piece of crap characters.
The more takes I see in regards to what people want or don't want with the new game across the internet, the more it makes sense why they released that deep dive.Though I agree withMarch Climber you should watch the Deep Dive. They are introducing mobility mechanics and several QoL that IMO elevates the game a lot and I have optimism towards the game to at least be better then BL3. As well as options to replay missions/quests for rewards as well as the ability to respawn bosses on the spot for a fee using your currency ingame. Lots of good things and not too much bad.
The problem is threefold. One they worship BL2 to the degree that nothing will surpass it. Secondly a lot of trust was destroyed with BL3 with multiple factors(killing off characters, writing, bad humor) at play. And lastly many hate Randy Pitchford more then they love Borderlands. And for some you aren't going to convince these people to give it a chance. Just the way it is.The more takes I see in regards to what people want or don't want with the new game across the internet, the more it makes sense why they released that deep dive.
The problem is getting those people who are voicing these complaints and concerns to actually watch the video.

It's rather pathetic. Especially if you don't care enough to play TftB at all. So many will wonder what happened. Lots of dumb stuff happened in Tales. I think the only thing I remembered that was substantial is the Rhys and Handsome Jack dynamic. It's even worse than you think. They didn't kill him off in a mainline Borderlands game - they let Telltale Games kill him off in Tales From The Borderlands. Then didn't explain shit about Scooter's absence in Borderlands 3. He was just gone and replaced with Ellie full time, no in universe explanation given.

I wish so, so far I replay mostly BL1.They call it a soft reboot. I'm hopeful all the cringe, ruined original series characters aren't making a return. Please, no more Claptrap, Girlboss Lillith, Ellie, and especially no Tiny Tina. And stop with the preachy left-wing-driven propaganda.
