I don't really understand why everyone expects the Switch 2 to be able to easily play current games.
For me, a handheld console has always been something separate from the graphics-intensive consoles from Xbox and Sony. I have absolutely no desire to play Borderlands 4 or Cyberpunk on the go. For me, only games with a well-suited UI for a handheld and that were also developed with mobile gaming in mind are worth playing.

30fps should be expected for ports of demanding current gen games to a handheld system.
The laws of physics mean a big console box plugged into the mains will always have an unassailable power advantage over a handheld a fraction the size that has to run off a battery.
This isn't news, it's to be expected. If you want high level performance, then you're not the target audience.

You should try BL3 on current consoles and see how well it runs.
Was expecting same for BL4 also, but apparently not.
Its online action game as far as I am concerned. Eye candy can be disabled here.

For a system that is the same price as current gen consoles when it was released a few months ago? Yeeeeeah I say people expected more and to hear other talk about the Switch 2/DLSS it's the best thing next to oxygen.
Now all of a sudden, "unreal is the problem" or "Gearbox doesn't know how to optimize"
Switch 2 owners need to realize that the thing is a handheld with lots of limitations and DLSS isn't going to magically turn it into a Xbox Series X or PS5.

You should probably get those eyes checked. Forget the drops to the low 20's happening regularly, and just pay attention to the complete hitches happening only slightly less regularly.

What is more surprising is the fact we are surprised about the endless threads on here. All basically suggesting the Switch 2 is rubbish because it does not have PS5 or Series X power. It was never going to in the first place. The Switch 2 is mainly going to push Nintendo's own software and this will drive the sales of the console. Games like this will be bought by customers totally unaware of any of this or the fact it's being discussed on niche videogame websites in the first place. What goalpost did I move? The CPU is nowhere near the Series S. Whoever told you to expect the same level of performance as the S in CPU demanding games, like UE5 for example, has been lying to you as the CPU has roughly half the performance. The Switch 2 can get theoretically close to the S in terms of GPU power combined with DLSS, but most modern games seem to ve very CPU limited so you're looking at 40fps performance modes at best. Look at Cyberpunk as a good example of what a Switch 2 port of a moden game will look like and adjust your expectations accordingly instead of lashing out at me.Here we go again. Not sure which game you are referring to, but im glad i bought a ps5 pro for Mh wilds, heard it runs like ass on PC.

Again, Switch 2's version is october 3, the demo build is likely a couple weeks old, it surprisingly looks better than I expected it would be.

Geekbench is a terrible benchmark to compare CPUs, because it mostly stresses the backend, while most applications, especially games, stress the frontend.

Yet to most people it will look and play exactly the same. Not suggesting that you guys are somehow wrong in your views, or that they do not have some weight. But in reality most people will buy this game for the current generation consoles and P.C.
The Switch audience will be pretty small and most of them will simply see this as Borderlands 4 for the Nintendo Switch 2. They will simply play it and have fun unaware of any of this. As it will simply not affect most people moaning complaining on here.

Price doesn't scale linearly with power, the ROG Ally X is more expensive than a PS5 but less powerful.
And a handheld machine releasing in 2025 being less powerful than home consoles from 2020 isn't unusual at all, it takes longer than that to close the gap between home console and mobile tech.

Not hating at all, I love my Switch 2 and I'm having a blast playing stuff like Donkey Kong and Cyberpunk on it.
Just saying, people getting worked up over a PS5 port being 30fps on it are being silly, at the end of the day the thing's a fraction the size of a PS5 and uses a fraction the wattage.
