really ? :/ well its the shortest one of all the DLCs. And to be honest i found it incredibly short.

Really Salsa? I swear it was half as long as the entire main campaign. I thought that was a LOT of game for a DLC. There are numerous 60 dollar games with shorter campaigns.

Is the shooting strong enough to hold up on its own? Recent F2P's have made me wary. A lot of those were just Skinner box loot grinds wearing the skin of a competent genre title.

My friend, this is far from one of those F2P FPS games. The game actually feels like Halo with Diablo's loot, skill trees, and multiplayer. Try out the demo.

I just finished my first playthrough.

So when should I do the DLC?

I believe all but Knox match your level the first time you enter. I actually played Zombie Island right before I entered Dahl Headlands, so maybe lvl 7 or 8. And it helped me level quickly as well: I was in the late teens/early 20s when I left with gear I'm STILL holding at the end of the game.

Gave my old copy and the Moxie/Zombie Island disc to a co-worker.

Picked up the GOTY version to get the rest of the DLC. After taking a six month hiatus, I am back in on the 360. I forget, is there a way to use health without navigating the menus?

Bring on Borderlands 2!

Its definitely coming, but Gearbox is busy with 3 known games: Duke Nukem Forever, Aliens: Colonial Marines, and Brothers in Arms: Furious 4. Apparently they also have an unnamed title in development as well. Maybe its Borderlands 2? e3 2012 definitely.

Edit: Duke development should be finished as it comes out this month.

Possibly my greatest disappointment of E3 this year -- no Borderlands 2. Randy has hinted that it's in development several times, so I'm sure it's the unannounced title they're working on right now. We'll probably hear about it some time over the fall or early next year.

Why would they do that?

Something about them being too busy with other projects. Though, they were still going to supervise production.

I don't know, it was a rumor that was going around a year or so ago.

Duke is done...maybe and Aliens must be ramping up for a final push. Borderlands 2 must be in the works, so maybe they are waiting to get all these projects out before they fully announce?

They need to get this out. First one was a major surprise success as I recall. Borderlands 2 could be massive, but not if it they sleep on it.

I really hope Gearbox's lengthy survey, regarding what a player would like to see in a game, got into the hands of some thoughtful, intelligent enthusiasts. I think it was related to what we would like Borderlands 2 to fix/add.

Anyone remember that online form? Has Gearbox ever mentioned anything more on that survey or the results of that survey? I tried to fill it out and realized that my game play ideas were either limited in scope or focused on minute details, leaving the rest of the survey empty. I did not want to distract from possible genius suggestions, written by more creative people.

Really late to the party here, and I've got a quick question.

I accidentally ported to T-Bone Junction early in my game, spawning the "General Knoxx" DLC. I know the DLC gets level-balanced, but this is telling me that the first mission is pegged at level 35.

  • Will it always be 35? Or can I wait until 50 to run through it to get better drops?
  • If it's pegged to 35 for forever, is it worth getting a friend to take me through it on his account for better drops (we're going to play co-op once I catch up to him in a couple of levels)?

There is 2 play throughs, the first one should be around 35ish I think. The second play through is when drops are better. If you are still on the first game, I wouldnt worry about it.

they are developing the next brother in arms, "furious four"...so no borderlands 2 i presume...i don't know how many AAA projects they can handle at the same time though

The Brothers in Arms game started before Borderlands released (it was even sorta announced), and they've been working on Aliens for years. They've for years had four "projects" in development on their website.

I assume after BiA and Aliens are done they'll move to a new Duke game and Borderlands sequel.

On the first playthrough the enemies of the DLC are around level 35-36, maybe a few specific ones higher. On the second playthrough they scale with your level.

Anyone still actively playing the PS3 version? Just need help getting 'and they'll tell two friends' the Gearbox employee trophy, to close out the GOTY edition platinum.

PSN: BF_36

PM me with 'two friends' in the friend request and I'll add you straight away.

Do you have the Gearbox trophy by chance?

I've only got that and Crawmerax/Armory Completionist (DLC missions) to go, I'm kind of winding down my Playthrough, so I'm not sure how much more I'll be playing.

Hey guys bought this from Steam yesterday. Any advice for which character to choose if I want to do the most DPS?

Also are they're any config tools for the game? The FOV is kinda messed up. Thanks.

At lower levels, most of the classes are similar but it is all based around what weapon drops and weapon specialisations you pick. You could try Soldier class until you get a hang of things, since the Turret is great to help you even the odds. Once you get higher level the Siren class is also awesome.

In all honesty, play all the classes and get use to their special abilities and find one that suits your style. Soldier is fun online if you prefer a Support role.

I picked this up yesterday and started my character as the girl. What path should I concentrate on to make her the best she can be?

What guns are you rolling with?

Increasing your elemental damage, Phase Walk cooldown and length, plus the initial strike out of stealth doing more damage, you have a delicious recipe to make things explode. Again, it depends on how you play but I found the Siren most enjoyable when I Phase Walked around, one-shotting some monsters while setting fire to other guys, which then gives you your Phase Walk back again. :D

I just started today. All I have is a machine gun and a scope pistol.

Doesn't the game let you respec for a fairly low cost? I seem to remember it doing so. So if you find a particular tree isn't working out for you it's not too much hassle to rework things once you have a better understanding of how the gameplay all fits together.

At lower levels, a nice Fire SMG can work wonders. The game is about luck, so you might actually get something early on that really helps out. Other times you have to struggle with crap weapons for a while.

As a Siren, don't be scared to run away if things get too hot. Just Phase Walk, run away and get your shield back. Then start again. As you level, when you come out of Phase Walk, you can also cause Elemental Damage. The Fire one is especially awesome of taking on large groups. I cannot remember the name, Phoenix of something, but you come out of Phase Walk and leave a trail of fire. :D

Try and collect various types of weapons and various Elemental Damage weapons. Its always handy to have a collection of various SMG's (If thats what you roll with) Having a good Sniper Rifle can help out in some spots too.

I focused on phasewalk for healing and boomage and elemental weapons.

By 30th level you'll lay waste to all in your path and have a great time doing it. She'll also work damn well in the arena.

I'm also slowly but surely getting my Mordecai up with maxed bloodwing attacks, which is so overpowered its beautiful.

Borderlands config editor v2.1.4 is what I used awhile ago. Not sure if their is a newer version or anything.

Lets you skip intro movies, FOV, FOV on sprint, tap/toggle to crouch, motion blur and bloom. Change text size (some weapons have too much text to fit the description window). Stuff like that.

Also has some settings to change gravity but I never messed with the game changing options.

I started with him, and I think because I was so used to it, I could never truly get the hang of the other 3 characters. The pets pathfinding could be a bit crappy, but when it worked, as you say, it was a thing of beauty to watch it just swoop through guys ripping them to shreds.

With the right build and class mod you can get it to attack six targets for a good amount of damage, a stun effect, and steal half that damage back as health, all with a < 10 second cooldown.

Talk about crowd control :)

That was exactly my loadout.

Dammit, my backlog is so big but I really want to go for another run, especially since a sequel is a late 2012 deal, at the earliest.

So you have seen the glory with your own eyes :)

Gotta say, while that Mordecai was deadly as hell, I think I had more straight up fun with Lilith. She was a perfect mixture of flexibility and death dealing and worked great solo and in a group with the same build.

The only one I couldn't get used to was Brick. Melee never felt right, focusing on rockets alone didn't satisfy, and he couldn't take enough damage to justify his role as true tank. But then maybe I just never saw him played right.

So my friend bought borderlands so we could play and his game crashes on start up...theres no error code or anything. It's on a macbook pro 15" screen but he has windows 7 on it

Ok gaf, I'm stumped. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get a gamepad working with this game.

I use a logitech rumblepad 2, and while it's recognized by the game, the left stick Y axis inputs are flipped, so up is backwards and down is forwards. I have no idea how to fix this. I have tried messing with the .ini files a bunch but can't track down the line that controls this function or the change I need to make to get it to work properly. Halp.

I have recently started playing this game again.

Anyone out there on 360 (computer is lacking the capabilities to play this on it. :( ) wanna party up sometime? I've been doing Crimson Armory and Crawmerax runs as of late.

Does anyone have a inf health trainer for the steam version, or have a cheatengine table that gives infinite health?

The game isn't particularly hard at all, but I can't be arsed to play it normally when I have a hundred other games I want to finish and I just want to experience the content of the game.

I am more than halfway through, I want to play at least one more time after this play through, is it more fun starting a new game playing as a new different character or just use New Game Plus?

Do you have a 360 pad lying around? Because that works flawlessly without hassle. Otherwise, you could use a program to emulate a 360 controller for your Logitech..
