Boruto |OT| Naruto Next Generations

How is this show even going to work with what I assume is the film's explanation of events? Will it just go through the same motions or cut to after the film??

Did you even read Naruto? Hiashi was a stern character, even at moments of love and humility, he kept such composure.

I'm not surprised though. Shikamaru was seen smoking in the new manga, something that goes tremendously against his pivotal character growth after Asuma's death. Like I said before, this new team doesn't really understand Naruto characters or its lore or what made the series' so appealing.

Or they understand the nature of growing up much better than you do.

Hiashi eased up after apologizing to Neji, having to fight his brother again in the Ninja War, and basically having both his daughters in danger in the last.

Dude promised his brother that he would change. Had grandchildren and saw them grow up which made the man open up.

It is also a common trope of hard parents being spoiling grandparents.

It's a proven fact parents are harder on their kids than their grandkids. Don't you have grandparents?

Missing the point that the character was always portrayed as composed. He can definitely show love but it wouldn't be in the blushing, cuddling way portrayed by SP.

Its like if Fugaku reacted the same way to Sarada, that too would come across as inconsistent.

There's actually a lot more child "copies" in Naruto's batch than in Boruto's when you think about it.

Hm?

Hiashi being a classic grandfather is really not a big deal lol

The workload Naruto has is ridiculous, get the guy some damn assistants holy shit he's gonna drop dead soon. It's probably what really kills him and not that lying jerk in the 1st episode.

Funny thing is they never explain what Naruto is actually doing. Tsunade was in charge in far worse times (Akatsuki, Orochimaru, inter village relations) and the 1st and 2nd had it even worse.....yet all three still had time to take a student for instant.

The movie did such a bad job, showing Naruto do some genin tier jobs -__-

I never got that really he absolutely should not be more busier than the hokages before him

Isn't naruto dealing with more villages because of peace time and it looked like they were becoming more modern/ growing?

That's what I thought. Naruto is basically a mayor of a city instead of a village now.

Are we sure the anime and manga for Boruto are the same continuity anymore?

Yea I think peace time Hokage work would be much more work then War time Hokage work. The new Leaf as lots of interaction with other village.

That's what I think. Dude's probably got more to worry about with Konoha getting bigger and them having an even closer relationship with the other villages.

Well now he is no longer a Ninja Kage for war and ninja missions, he basically does what a President/Vice President of the Fire Nation (with the King) and Mayor of a city does.

Economic deals, interviews, etc..
Konoha is a Metropolis now

compared to before

The evolution begin with Kakashi who reformed the Hokage position to more then what it was

Are we seriously upset that a character softened up in a Naruto series?

Also I love how the Ikemoto manga is getting less and less relevant.

Just like with Dragon Ball Super, the anime should be the Main source material.

Mantis will easy up after we get Gaiden animated

Sarada barely even gets any screen time as it is

Yeah likely this will happen sooner or later. The anime will eventually pass the manga in content.

So, I just watched the latest episode, and it does a much better job justifying Boruto's attitude. Naruto was really a dick to him.

It didn't seem like that to me

I got a lot of "Stop lying,I know you didn't any put effort into it" from my Dad when I claimed I did great in exams I didn't study for.

We know though via a previous episode that Boruto has been secretly training when he told Denki he is doing a secret plan to upstage his Dad and is hiding it form his Mother

In the Movie we learn that he knows how to use 3 Affinities

That exactly how I see his job going. He's really spread out now that the it's expanded and become more modernized. Can't wait til the movie and the show finally sync and see how it goes from there.

caught up with the eps, i'm enjoying this but i find the direction a bit odd, all of the episodes focused on boruto's group and not so much on Sarada and other side characters, they didn't really spend time introducing them either.

nonetheless the quality is good and i don't mind the development with boruto's character, just find the focus and pacing a bit strange

I'm sorry, but the fact that the series more less jumped from a feudal-esque aesthetic straight to modern pop is fucking hilarious to me.

He's got the smartest ninja of his generation on his side.... he's cool.

But Kakashi had Shika as an assistant as well. Probably the brainiest duo in Leaf History.
Tsunade and Shizune's brain trust has got to be larger than Naruto and Shika's as well.
The 3rd and 4th with the duo assistants of Kotetsu and Izumo might be the closest.
The 1st with the 2nd as an assistant and Madara as a consultant on retainer is an unspeakable level of talent.

Can't argue with any of this actually. Kaka's reign was so short though.

Kakashi seems to have been Hokage for at least ten years.
Longer than Tsunade who had three to four years.
Minato was Hokage for probably less than a year.
The first and second Hokage, considering how they look when they died, seem to have short reigns as well.
Kakashi is probably the second longest reigning Hokage next to the third.

It really is fucking hilarious. Even when I try to not think about it too much, this latest episode has then watching movies...

And I thought Legend of Korra was crazy, the Boruto anime just takes it to another level lmao

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Tobirama was the best Hokage

Some people give him flak for starting the Uchiha coup (in a way) but he was... kind of right the whole time. Also supposedly the one who put in place all of the modern ninja systems. Kinda weird how he was so water oriented as the Fire guy, but he's got some of the coolest techniques so I'm not complaining

Korra was such a long jump in years tho it kinda fit

I mean yea, but then it did stuff like huge mechas that can shoot lasers and eh, just seems silly, even with metalbenders being a thing imo

But yes, belief can be suspended due to the long jump in time, but Boruto's in comparison is quite lacking. I don't care that much mind you, but it is hilarious that they have TV and stuff now. I'll never not poke fun at it.
