Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Really liking this series so far

Hiashi is the clan head for long, it's common sense he'll be sought for his knowledge in the clan's bloodline. It really has nothing to do with Hinata's rank or whatever. And she's already on par or surpassed Neji so I don't know why some even brought it up lol.

And Boruto and friends are looking better and better than Naruto's in terms of overall personality. Dunno how long this continues but yeah hopefully it does before shit happens.

Yeah, Boruto is immediately more likeable than Naruto. It is too early, but I can see him becoming a lot more interesting than Naruto (not that hard tbh).

The worse thing about Boruto are his daddy issues. They are rarely presented in a way that makes him sympathetic.

I really need the movie stuff to happen so we can move beyond it.

I thought the daddy issues were handled well in the movie. Too early for me to say here, but I thought it's an interesting direction to take.

This. I really like boruto but his stupid daddy issue thing is really annoying. Makes me like him way less than it should

Also i loved shikamaru in naruto but i kinda like shikadai even more. Has more personality i think. True bro.

Did they say Himawari has awakened the Byakugan?

Yeah. Himawari did awaken it early. I think there's an OVA about it which is hilarious.

The way Himawari awaken the Byakugan is both the most frightening and cutest thing ever.

And yes it's from the OVA bundled with the Boruto Movie.

The OVA is pre-anime.

The idea is good, but the execution is poor for a character we are supposed to like.

Seems like the writers were trying to create conflict without actively making Naruto unlikable.

The only way naruto could be shown unlikable would be to go against his character of trying to do his best for everyone all the time.

It's no big deal to be honest. He's just a kid acting like kid. And his issue is not just for himself but for his mom and sister too. And of course we saw a dynamic change after the events of the movie happened, so it's just a short phase.

And yeah, Shikadai being a little more friendly and acting less lazy makes him better than the kid Shikamaru. And Shikamaru is one of my favorites in the series.

Hiashi mentioned Hima's early Byakugan awakening when they were discussing about Byakugan.

He loves the result of his keikakku.

Lmao

Boruto having daddy issues is completely fine to me. I find it compelling that the guy who despised his loneliness would inadvertently end up neglecting his family at times. It is kinda funny though that he seemingly has little time for them, when presumably the world is far more peaceful nowadays.

But it is a good point that it is hard to sympathize strongly with Boruto since Naruto isn't being malicious about it.

So could it be the Tenseigan??

Why else have
good guy Toneri
??

Also I definitely want to see him reveal himself now

"Sup I'm the guy who forced your mom into marrying me and forcefully took the eyes out of your aunt's skull. Wanna talk about your Destiny a bit?"

Toneri:
"Compared to that Sasuke guy, I believe I was quite tame..."
"We friends? cool"

I find them a lot more likeable, but maybe it's just because of their interactions together and not as much "just their personalities".

Well it's kind of unfair to say since Boruto clearly has a headstart...

But then again, we get to see them before they're put into ninja teams, so that probably helps lol

I don't think it's unfair to say at all. Naruto chose to handle its progression/story in a different way, and the fruits it bore are the fruits it bore.

Naruto's problem, as least post Hokage seems to be that hes utterly lacking division of labor.

I mean, that model may have worked for a small, closely held ninja village, but not what equates to a large city state within a state, which is part of a larger alliance/union.

What he needs is a ton of secretaries/ministers and under secretaries, etc, to handle the mundane stuff, leaving only the big stuff to him.

If this is so hard on Naruto, a guy who can make multiple clones no sweat, how the heck did Kakashi deal with it?

Just watched this week episode. Wasn't expecting how Hiashi would act towards Boruto and Himawari... since Boruto didn't want to go see him it made him look like he was probably as serious as he was with Hinata and Himawari (or perhaps a little bit less, which could've been pretty scary for a kid).

I like how the Byakugan will be a big deal in this series. Got disappointed when the Sharingan became the focus of the story in Naruto.

Wait, is the Boruto anime actually good?

I wasn't a fan of the manga adaptation at all, and I know the anime goes in a completely different direction... to great effect, apparently?

EDIT:

Episode 8

Boruto is amazing lol, I loved him saying all these awakened power lines, we need even more of it.

Woah, it's like early part 1 Naruto

Felt whatever about it at first, but starting to genuinely enjoy it. *gasp

At the very least, I'm definitely not going back to the horrid manga.

Oh wow, they actually did bring back that villain from The Last. Didn't actually think he'd be important lol

I must say, this show consistently looks so much better than Naruto and Shippuden does. The new art direction is great, and even the lesser episodes are consistent to the show's look. The new series director is definitely a noticeable upgrade.

Hiroyuki Yamashita is the new director (did some of the best fights in Naruto and directed Boruto the movie). Unfortunately, a lot of the other key animators are not on board for this series.

As someone who hated Naruto ending up with Hinata, I must admit, doting Grandpa Hiashi is a huge plus.

And totally out of character but thats nothing new for Studio Pierrot judging from their previous filler endeavours.

He was a total fucking hard ass in the original series lol. He disowned hinata for awhile there too.

I love doting hiashi though, wish neji lived to see how his life would of turned out.

Oh gosh and the animation and art has been so on point, rag on Pierrot all you want but they have me some of the best animated fights ever. Watching a weekly show like boruto and catching up on DB super really makes you realize toei are super fucking cheap with animation.

I thought they were hints all over Naruto of him softening up.

Did you even read Naruto? Hiashi was a stern character, even at moments of love and humility, he kept such composure.

I'm not surprised though. Shikamaru was seen smoking in the new manga, something that goes tremendously against his pivotal character growth after Asuma's death. Like I said before, this new team doesn't really understand Naruto characters or its lore or what made the series' so appealing.

Well it's been 8 episodes, so slowly but surely, they'll break away from that perception hopefully.

I dunno, only ones that come off as total copies are shikadai and inojin. Boruto and the rest of them are branching out for themselves.

I really enjoy all this academy and small time stuff going on, I love that the byakugan was explained on how it gets awakened and it has to be trained. For a long time it was assumed every hyuuga had it because of the white eyes.

It's a proven fact parents are harder on their kids than their grandkids. Don't you have grandparents?

Well appearance-wise I kind of count Metal as well. But yes, there actually isn't as many "copies" as one would think.

Parent to child: Work hard every day

Grandparent to grandchild: BROWNIES FOR BREAKFAST

It's been nearly 20 years since the war and even before it ended there were signs of Hiashi changing. It's totally within the realm of reasonable development that he could become the doting grandparent he is. Besides, it's his grandkids, and there's different rules when it comes to your babies' babies, and as we saw in the very same episode he is still very much capable of being serious.
