Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

Considering he was investigated by the FBI and they found jack shit indicating the older brother was dangerous, I doubt it. I'm sure there will still be plenty of fun rhetoric from the right closing Obama could have prevented this, but it would be complete bullshit.

The American Right criticizes Obama, more at 11.

They'll probably do it for a few days then no one will care except the most extreme people (like those who think Benghazi was a serious coverup)

From reading his stuff on Twitter, I hope there's still some sense left in the kid so that one day he can realize just how horrible of an act he committed. And when he does, that weight on his conscience will be far worse than torture.

Then again he could just be a sociopath, but I'd like to be surprised once in a while.

Judging from how he behaved afterwards, I think he is likely a sociopath. He was tweeting casually after the bombing, went back to school the next and didn't look nervous, etc. Him and his brother probably both lacked any sense of empathy.

Can somebody confirm this?

Older brother the 26 year old? guy is dead.

The younger 19 is the one who was apprehended wounded but is alive currently.

Seriously if you have to ask questions multiple times, perhaps using google might be faster? ;)

I was thinking this too. Theirs something to be said about it being harder to find 1 person. BUT i can see a group of 8 people being small enough to cause major havoc. it's scary

The more people in on it though the more someone might fuck up or the conspiracy becomes a bit more obvious. It just being the two of them is probably what kept it so under wraps.

So much misunderstanding about Miranda on the news. It's a non-issue right now. Guy is wounded. You can be placed in investigative custody/detained. They probably don't even know what the charges are right now that they are going to arrest him on. Guy has to be taken to the hospital to be treated. You don't have to read him Miranda until he's under arrest and start asking him questions. Even then if the guy is talking WITHOUT being asked any direct questions without being mirandized, you can still use those statements in court. They call them excited utterances or something and courts have held that they can still be used. Example: Guy shoots his wife. Cops show up. Before he can be placed under arrrest, he starts screaming "Oh, God, I shot my wife." He wasn't being questioned and he wasn't under arrest yet, but you can still use that statement.

YES, rape torture and slow painful death at the very least... You brutally kill and injure people with bombs. Then cold blooded assassinate that MIT guard and everything else they did running from cops and throwing explosives etc etc etc.

He is not a human being. He does not deserve to live in a cell and eventually die from a needle in his arm.

He is, in fact, a human being.

they pretty clearly are not going to read him his miranda rights so he doesn't get legal counsel and can be held without trial

For those (like me) a little concerned about the lack of a Miranda warning, this makes me feel better:

"Pete Williams on MSNBC says public safety exemption probably expires after 48 hours. Also that admin insists suspect going to civilian court"

i'll feel better if this turns out to be true

Thanks guys :-)
Although didn't do anything really, just put all the stuff that you guys looked up/posted into one post!

Now I'm really gone :P

Once again thank you for all the updates and sticking with it through the whole ordeal.

I better be doing the same. haha

Eh, wouldn't more people= more "shoot to kill" orders?

With just these two, it seems that there was extensive work to bring him in alive. I mean, that whole boat sequence could have been done even quicker if need be, no?

Also, I only played GTA, but the army was not involved, were they? I'm sure Murrica could handle 8. Seems they just approached this very cautiously.

I guess the big question is how he got away the first time

what did Obama say to the internet detectives?

He essentially reminded people on the internet that we have due process for a reason.

Actually I wouldn't mind if some of the more overzealous people were charged with some sort of criminal activity tbh.

he will stand trial.
As he should as a US citizen. And then let him come over here to the Colorado Super Max and spend the rest of his days in what is essentially solitary.

What is scary about this whole ordeal is that 2 kids caused 5 days worth of commotion in one of the largest cities in the United States. Imagine if there was a group of people like these 2 brothers that try to do something like this again, but in numbers. They can do some massive damage. I'm just glad this is over with and we get to find out what triggered these two guys.
Brings chills. Unfortunately I don't think I can say it could never happen. Kinda makes ya pause for a moment.

Well yeah, just saying its often thought that that people have to be crazy or brain washed or emotionally damaged to do these sort of things. Nobody ever expects the normal Joe that just gets bored with life to do it.
Well there was something wrong with him. He wasnt a normal joe. It may seem like that based off the activities he has done but thats superficial. If you can say normal joe can do a bombing then you can obviously say a person doing a bombing is a normal joe..except no you cant it doesnt work like that. Regardless, in the end there is never any justification in killing innocent people. Its completely irrational.

National guard was dispatched. So basically yes the military was involved if thats what you are asking.
