I think that was stopped too early but Ward was on the ascendency and Kovalev looked gassed.
Rematches continue to benefit the more tactical/cerebral fighter

So now we need Ward vs Stevenson
YupWard is 100% P4P#1. No fucking question about it.
The bully got bullied. Fuck that dichead. Kovalev looked vulnerable and hurt. Responded poorly.
I was on Ward's bandwagon since the super 6. All you kids who called him boring couldn't get past your bias. He's an execeptional boxer who just made the boogey man quit. Too bad Golovkin too puss to fight him. Canelo gonna do this to him anyway
I'm not gonna judge Kovalev too harshly. I'm more interested in what he has to say once he's settled and had a chance to review the fight.
Ward fought an excellent fight, and is definitely P4P #1.
I have a lot of respect for Kovalev's boxing ability, but I definitely agree with the assessment the bully got bullied.
On rewatch one of the shots was a low blow. But Ward was still going to stop him either way.
Also boxing press salt hahaha
anyone can post articles on that website lol
Ward played Kovalev like a piano. Kovalev allowed Ward to impose his style of fight from round one. I didn't understand why Kovalev's corner did not tell him to back off as Ward continued to bait him.
Also boxing press salt hahaha
I still can't believe how bad Kovalev was in that final round. Ward completely exposed him.
Oh god I can't take the salt from boxing forums at the moment. ITS SO GOOD. Bunch of delusional fucks, really. Kovalev was so fucking done and was never, NEVER gonna win this fight had it continued. It's actually a little unfortunate it ended with a controversy when Ward was gonna win it comfortably either way.
So is it the refs fault?
Kovale's for not taking the knee?
Ward for low blows?
I must be going crazy because I honestly did not see any low blows in that final round. I am going to have to watch the fight again on youtube tomorrow to try to get a better perspective.

Fuck. What's frustrating is that, even though Ward was inching to a finish they stopped it. For nothing. Even if you don't think it was low blows (some definitely were), give him a standing count.
Man I'm pretty pissed. Dude should have gone out on his shield.
There was a lowblow or two. But nothing that would have changed the outcome of the fight. Kovalev got done, from a face shot.
