I'll probably hire it and give the single player a whirl on a console version. I was planning on getting the PC version but the lack of dedicated servers has certainly changed that.
I think you're underestimating people's contempt for Kotick's business practices.Kandrick said:You will go buy it as soon as you log on and see all your friends playing it and having fun without you. :lol
eznark said:Will you be doing the same with Starcraft and Diablo next year?

I like the idea of sticking it to Activision, but giving your money to Gamestop instead is just as bad.

Your purchase of a used copy will make those harder to find, driving 1 (one) person who would otherwise have bought a used copy to say "Fuck that 5$ price difference, I'm buying a new one now".
An effective boycott involves a non-purchase.
I can dream!Tokubetsu said:As if Diablo 3 was coming in 2010 anyway :lol
tagghst said:if you buy this game and you claim to give a two penny shit about pc gaming, you're a fucking scab. and when the industry has completed its transition into the ultimate low expectation, big wallet culture of prescribed, blinkered experiences with a constant flow of extraneous yet mandatory content; served up on a platter of avatar clothing and gouged accesories, where every single facet of your gaming experience is 100% controlled and manipulated to extract every last live point from your account- you'll know you did your bit.
That other person might have traded it in or sold to someone else if not to you. You're taking a copy out of the used market either way.MMaRsu said:Not mine. If I buy it from another person instead of a store.
Don't worry about me, I'm not buying it at all, but not out of spite for Activision (though Kotick is a prick, no doubt).MMaRsu said:Plus I don't really care if anyone else buys it new. If you want to give money to that greasball Kotick be my guest. Reward them with your money. I will not be doing the same.
Which is why I'm advocating to do neither.bill0527 said:As compared to people's contempt for EB Pawnstop's business practices?

Bu..bu..but didn't you get the memo? We're being told that this is for the "good of the PC community!"Hellcrow said:It still baffles me that so many people have never experienced the wonders of a dedicated server. The community that surrounds one great server with specialized maplists and other fun modifications. Match-Making seems so unpersonal.
Can't win; don't try. Got it.Sean said:There's really no point in boycotting something this huge. Activision's still gonna sell 15 million+ copies, you're not hurting them much at all.
Cant0na said::lol nice boycott
Hai guys, lets boycott one mega huge crooked company Activision and give our money to another mega huge crooked corporation Gamestop.........THAT'LL teach em
all this does is screw over infinity ward, the guys who made the awesome game.
Eric WK said:So did you buy all of those Guitar Heros you've played used too?
Exactly. Why vote? There's millions of other people out there who'll do it regardless, just stay home.Sean said:There's really no point in boycotting something this huge. Activision's still gonna sell 15 million+ copies, you're not hurting them much at all.
oh Seiken... are you going to play this game for 100 hours straight also? :lol :lolSeiken said:Boycotting MW2 in any way should be death as penalty.
That was actually the plans :lol But before that, another 100 hours on Tekken 6!DigitalDevil said:oh Seiken... are you going to play this game for 100 hours straight also? :lol :lol

You're doing it wrong.Igo said:MW2 and L4D2 are both on my list. I know it doesn't make any difference but at least i'll know i'm not supports the practices of these companies.
Same here.Shiggy said:Boycotting it by not buying it at all.
OMG Aero said:I'm not getting it until it drops in price.
And that won't be for a long time so I guess you could call that a boycott of sorts.
Lagspike_exe said:Not buying it at all because of the higher UK price.
Except i guess you missed the point where people feel that Infinity Ward has screwed the PC community so thats why they are boycotting MW2 because its a half assed made that way just so the users can be charged for map packs.Foliorum Viridum said:I dislike Activision as much as most people, but I don't see why boycotting one of the few products they make that I actually want can be seen as a good idea. You have to support the quality out there, regardless of the source.
Besides, I see it as supporting Infinity Ward more than anything.
