Procon-SP Brazil announced on Tuesday (13) that it has notified Nintendo to explain the changes made to the End User License Agreement (EULA). Among the main new features, a new rule can partially or totally disable products or consoles that violate the terms.

According to Procon-SP, the Japanese giant must explain the messages that were sent to consumers about these changes to the user agreement. The organization considered that the new rules could be classified as abusive "at first glance".

Nintendo was given 48 hours to respond.

"Brick me if you can"

The last time this happened, both Samsung and Apple were forced to put the fucking charger back into the phone box. So...

The last thing you should worry about in brazil is accidentally buying a videogame console as the ps5 pro is like 1200 us dollars lol

I worked with a guy from Brazil. He said people openly carried guns and murdered each other in the streets after soccer matches.

Yeah! We also live in the woods and eat bananas.. fcuking crazy overhere.

On topic: the switch is mainly used unlocked here with open piracy so... theres that.

No, i would say fuck you to all the people over there and geoblock everyone, make sure they can't play anything that will teach them to complain....
Oh and send the Nintendo ninja's to reclaim all the sold switches, no last gen for the brazilians.

So, if people imports all the Nintendo consoles that are in Brazil, good luck to the government waiting for a response from Nintendo.

pretty sure my Brazilian family don't even now how to legally buy games for consoles.
the only legal thing they do is steam

I'm glad someone outside of the EU has called Nintendo out for this bullshit, honestly go fuck yourself Nintendo.
If Nintendo is not officially established there, The Brazil government can't do nothing and is almost guaranteed that Nintendo is not going to respond…

Probably trolling, but more or less yes, Nintendo have some official presence here in Brasil. Honoring warranties and localizing games and that kind of thing.

Yeah obviously joking but last i heard they don't sell there officially but they work together with a local distributor.
I don't know if that is seen as official presence but we'll find out soon enough.

Racism all over the topic, but Gaf will be Gaf, I guess

"Dont mess with my favorite billionaire company !"
was wondering what Brazil did to GAF to warrant all this hate. We had a whole topic about how fucked up the EULA change is but when the Brazilian government steps in now they're all communist subhumans who are low IQ and shouldn't dare to oppose the great and revered Nintendo.

Being against one of the Big 3 will do that, I guess

This is a gaming forum and console wars will always be a thing

That and GAF is closer to 4chan in terms of "freedom of speech" than I would like sometimes

Because according to some: Lula (the current president of Brazil) is a communist lackey of China and Russia.

Also, it's worth mentioning that most of the hate towards anything related to Brazil comes from Brazilians that hate the country and are part of the cult that worships the previous president, which is a far-right Trump bootlicker... Those people are so insane that they even parade begging for the USA to invade Brazil and save them from the socialist/communist/devil spawn government.

I just don't get this because hardly any modern country can be called socialist let alone communist.

The fact that CEOs exist in many parts of the world and still hold the power and wealth they do is proof enough that neither socialism nor communism are very prevalent concepts in the 21st century. People really don't know what those words mean and they should stop using their weird and wrong definitions of them to insult entire countries because they dared to take issue with some anticonsumer video game developer overseas.

I might just be an ignorant Norseman but I wish governments all around the world would take the consumers side and draw up some legislations that prevent corporations from making their EULAs a blank check for shitty anti-consumer behaviour. In most countries EULAs might not have much weight when scrutinised by a court. But it's still a way for companies to to bully/scare its users as most people don't have the means and/or want the hassle of taking them to court.

This would be a very nice thing for gaming "journalists" to use what little influence they have left to shine a light on and make a spectacle over. But i guess they're too scared of losing their precious access ...and waaaay too busy virtue signalling and participate in online purity contests to actually do something meaningful for the gaming community.

I know next to nothing of the Brazilian government, so I can't speak of the motivations/validation of this move. But seems strange to me seeing people automatically taking the corpos side...fanboy or not. 🤷‍♂️

And his government. I'm not talking to everyday people, they're lula victims as well.. I'm from Venezuela and the mf has always supported the socialist regime from there and the rest of the continent so yeah, I can't help it 🤷

I Love You Hug GIF

i ll never understand the amount of brazilians thats support Venezuela regime, its juts pure mass "retardation"
