Anyone have a link to next week's preview and the behind the scenes episode for this episode? The site isn't working for me.
I can't get to it (or any other new content) on their site yet. Sometimes they have problems uploading stuff on time when the episodes don't end right on the hour mark. I'll keep checking.

Absolutely pathetic part deux
Yeah, rewatching the "I am the one who knocks line" made me realized that is going to be A) used in future promos for Breaking Bad and B)used in reels for when Cranston wins Best Actor again at the Emmys. One of the greatest lines in the series too. Suburb episode.

walt needs to get his shit together. those women are probably going to be killed, and for what? to send gus a message?

he and jesse are done, and he knows that. he's using jesse as a pawn just like gus is, and it's not going to end well. "i like to think that i can see things in people." poor jesse.

I actually think Gus is taking him under his wing, regardless of Walt. I mean Walt is so into delusiona about himself he even said it "Everything is about me".

Nah. Why not keep Jesse on as a hired gun if the dude shows a knack for it?

Walter wants Gus out of the picture, cartel's not too happy with him either, Hank may be on to him, we're in for a good second half.

not really much to say about this episode.. wasn't a lot of meat to it

i didnt really like the meth house scene and still not sure how i feel about jesse being trained to be the next mike

pardon my ignorance but what was with the digging?

It was a great episode and walt was just attacking everybody. Him and skyler in the beginning and end were fascinating. Jesse at the house was tense.

Walt is fucking up all over the place and will lead to his collapse. He is making too many blunders for him to recover.

It was just to show how screwed up and nonsensical meth-heads can be. He pretended to be strung out and started digging a hole for the sake of seeing how deep it can go.

Ah, I thought that but that made too much sense :p

SpeedingUptoStop

will totally Facebook friend you! *giggle* *LOL*
Pretty sure the digging was just a symptom of meth - you preoccupy them with some conspiratorial repetitive activity and they'll keep doing it forever.

I think the audience got the message the first time Skylar used her meta reference of the audience's feelings towards herself through the "bitch mom" comment, there's no need to constantly repeat the phrase/message to be perfectly honest.

I wouldn't exactly call saying it 2 times CONSTANTLY repeating a phrase. And also she was referencing the last time she said it, which is totally normal.

man, the fact that i think he's right in saying that is really fucking with my head right now.

The problem is that he is right. Despite being right though, he still comes off to Jesse as an arrogant asshole. That's what makes Gus' plan so sound.

"meta reference"?
What's funny about this is that nothing could be more normal than when someone makes a similar point multiple times in real life.

You've never heard the term meta applied to television/film/literature? It can mean several things, but in this case, I'm talking about the show acknowledging its audience. Maybe I'm looking too far into it but it's no secret that Skylar is one of the more disliked characters in the show, and I consider the "bitch mom" comments, besides their narrative purpose, to be a snide remark from the show's writers to the character's detractors in the audience.

Well, when you put it in quotes with a question mark following it, what am I supposed to think?

Narratively, the comment was powerfully potent the first time around, repeating it thereafter comes off as overly forced. And as is the case with television/film/literature in general, sometimes realism does not effectively make the transition without sticking out like a sore thumb, in a completely bad way.

Yeah that was basically my reaction to it too.

You're looking way too far into it. She incessantly refers to herself as the "bitch mom" because she's cognizant of the fact that Junior perceives her in that manner. There are more effective and surreptitious ways for the writers to nudge at the audience (the latent color symbolism, for example).

BlueTsunami

there is joy in sucking dick
Junior is that one that called her a bitch, in anger. I don't know about you but that'd be burned into my lexicon and memory if my child called me something like that. Made even worse by the fact that its basically Junior choosing sides and she's not even the one in the wrong.

"I am the one who knocks" oh wow.

Well, Jessie is gaining points while Walt is completely losing it. This episode proves that he has COMPLETELY FALLEN APART. Just when you think he is somehow going back to his old self (actually seeing through Gus' plan) he does something so ridiculous that I don't even know how to describe it right now.
And Skyler was great this episode, really. Even though she looked even older than before. Apart from gaining weight it seemed to me as if she aged ~5 years since the last episode.

Glad to see the love. One of my favorite episodes this season, maybe even series. It was incredible on all levels.

I am the one who knocks line gave me chills, as well. Unbelievable.

Bought Season 1 last week on a whim, stayed up till 5AM finishing it. Fucking brilliant show.

Season premier for S2 was great, really looking forward to watching it.

Not really much else I can say that I'm sure hasn't already been said, it's fantastic. AMC produces some of the best tv, period.

Not sure about the order, but Breaking Bad is added to my list of favorite shows, which include Community, Mad Men, Entourage, The Sopranos, and The Wire.
