I don't like when information is clumped. I mean we saw some of Hank's progress in breaking the case when he was injured with uncovering Gale's Lab Notes and all but it seems like it just pushed the plot along. Could have been a little smoother.

If Hank wasn't "smooth" then I don't know what is

How the fuck do they string this out for five more episodes?
well they have evidence that Gus at one point in time was at Gales house, and that's about it so far. Until there they get anything more than that they'll have to keep looking.

Skyler dictating to Walt
Walt disobeying Skyler to take control (car scene)
Flynn citing
Walt doing detective work
Jesse doing emmy work
Walt scheming with Jesse
Mike being Mike
Saul being Saul
Videogame of some sort
Music set to a scene being awesome

Only thing this episode lacked was Mike & Saul together and cooking in an RV!

over/under hank being dead by seasons end

Under. They already fucked him up. I see his former partner dying, though (Gomez). Maybe Mike :(

Good episode, especially Hank's explanation of his suspicions at the end.

I still think the narrative is progressing too slow, especially if you compare it to the first few seasons.

SpeedingUptoStop

will totally Facebook friend you! *giggle* *LOL*
It's pretty clear that either Gus or Jesse is gonna be dead by the end of this season now. Walt isn't gonna step up and the show seems to have verbally ruled out Mike this episode.

Anyone else feel that the opening scene, with Jessie playing the video game was tastelessly done. To me it felt like a classic case of video games being portrayed completely wrong/negatively in other medium.

He is playing this "violent video game" with a control method that doesn't exist for the game(as far as we know), that is causing violent flash backs from his own murder victims......

Wasn't there a story a few years ago about a war veteran with PTSD who was suffering flashbacks after playing a FPS video game?

It probably would've been fine if the game was out, and they didn't show the logo. With all the other product placement lately, it's the one that seemed to stand out the most. In context with Jesse's flip out at the end, it fits better.

If you look at the reddit discussion, it was a successful ad placement. Several people didn't know what it was, but said they wanted it.

i thought it was just kind of a silly metaphor

"RESTART/QUIT"

i didnt really care about product placement or whatever

that and the stuff with the car was pretty lame, but otherwise it was one of the best episodes of the season

that was definitely jesses emmy scene

it was quite obvious what they were going for but they are on basic cable and have to pay bills somehow

Aside from all the product placement stuff this episode was easily one of the best IMO.

Hank is a slick motherfucker, can't wait for this next episode.

Product placement in exchange for the showrunner's having the ability to tell the story how they want to tell it is a deal I would make every single day of the week, no questions asked. What it buys far, far outweighs this cost.

Why is product placement bad?

I can understand it if half the show is just one big ad but complaining about subtle product placement?

Do you guys never see logos in real life? Drive down the street and you see hundreds of logos.

I think getting the fingerprints on the fountain cup was a little far-fetched, but a great ep nonetheless.

Also, Rage is a light gun game now?

There isn't anything wrong with it and the Dodge Challenger push over the last two episodes was not subtle at all. That car was photographed the way Michael Bay shoots GM cars in the Transformers movies...

Having said that, and keep in mind I was pointing out the Dodge push earlier in this thread, I loved the way they shattered the notion of product placement by having the lead character blow up the car. Just another sign that the creative team is ahead of the viewer and being a patient viewer can be rewarding.

There was nothing subtle about it. Thankfully it's not nearly as bad as the product placement in It's Always Sunny, in which they literally have an entire conversation extolling the virtues of Dave & Busters.

That being said, another great episode. Love this show.

I don't mind product placement when it's subtle/just logos like you mention, but they really went overboard with it.

The Dodge Challenger was a big part of the last two episodes and the chat inside Los Pollos with "my car goes 0-60 in four seconds" and Hank replying "I would give my left nut to drive a car like that" etc, come on... Even the official Breaking Bad twitter account was tweeting out Dodge ads.

Yea Gus's spanish is horrible. Isnt he South American ?

The character grew up as a child in Chile.

I don't really care about the product placement but their Spanish accent really annoys me. They have a few lines in Spanish, why can't they practice their accent for those few lines? Meh, at least the lines make sense and aren't gibberish like I would expect.

Holy crap that was good.

Hank is one of the best characters ever. Walt is becoming progressively more unlike able whereas Hank is only becoming more awesome.
I have a feeling that when it comes time for that duel, we'll be rooting for Hank.

And yeah Aaron Paul's performance was... "wow".

That's all I can say.
